  1. The Missouri game was a 17 point game before Illinois scored a meaningless TD with literally five seconds left in the game. And if Penn State had Urban Meyer for their coach, they would've won that game by 21. I was happy just to see Illinois in the PSU game until the 4th, but they weren't really close to Missouri. I think the Big 10 is below average once again this year, as evident to Ohio State's massive beatdown at the hands of USC. Sure Beanie Wells was out for that game, but does he make up a 31 point deficit? Not at all. I'm really impressed with Penn State; they should win the Big Ten title quite easily I would think. Wisconsin has been a major disappointment. Turns out that win on the road at Fresno wasn't all that it was cracked up to be as it took Fresno double OT to beat a real bad Toledo team and then they lost at HOME to a real bad Hawaii team. I do think Northwestern is a legit 4th or 5th place team in the Big 10 this year. They actually have a real defense for the first time that I can ever remember. Michigan State and Minnesota both look average. Nothing that they've done has really made me believe that they're good or great teams though. The rest of the conference is just bad.
  2. Don't worry, only half of that will be true next week. MSU is going to clobber Northwestern (sorry Jon). I really doubt that. In fact, I think NW is going to win that game.
  3. I hope he dies. The sad thing is you're probably serious. Ease up.
  4. That's the problem. They aren't content just enjoying their championship. They are more proud of the fact that they have one and the Cubs don't. The Cardinals have 10 championships, but their fans are generally easier to deal with than White Sox fans. The Cardinals are happy for their team, not glad that it wasn't the Cubs. I never had a problem with the Sox or most of their fans until they won it all. Now its just aggravating to even listen to them talk about baseball. I just had to lol at this post. Of course you say that since you live in Chicago. Try living around the STL area for a year and you'll see that Cardinal fans are far more intolerable than Sox fans. They don't make it a point to hate the Cubs? Where the hell are you coming from? All the Card fans I know here celebrated like they won the World Series when we were swept last night. It's all a matter of location, but I lived in the Chicagoland area for most of my life, including in 2005 and 2006. Cardinal fans are worse, believe it or not.
  5. Might as well keep up the NL West theme and make it the Padres, Rockies, or Giants. Heh yeah, I mentioned that very thing to a couple of people last night. That would really blow.
  6. The Three Peat - Sweep TBD.
  7. "This one is way worse than last year's NLDS. I don't know why that is." Because you guys showed you were by far the best team in the NL for 161 games and the fans expected at least a National League pennant this year. That's why.
  8. Not sure why you're shocked about that. Illinois' three wins: EIU, UL-Lafayette, Michigan. That's almost Notre Dame-like bad. They don't deserve to be ranked right now. Im looking more at their losses than I am their wins. They have 2 losses, both to top 10 teams. Illinois was in both of those games, and just dismantled a Michigan team, who beat Wisconsin. That's fine, but anytime you lose a game or two, you're going to drop in the polls. It doesn't matter if you lose to an unranked team or the #1 team in the nation. Michigan State just barely beat a horrible Iowa team and has beaten nobody, but they are ranked. Illinois is being punished to much for losing to 2 top 10 teams. Oh well Illinois schedule sets up very well for them from this point on. Don't worry about the rankings right now. As long as Illinois takes care of business, everything else will set itself up nicely. I think if they played Missouri and Penn State closer (legitimately closer), they'd probably be right on the edge of the top 25. They're right on the edge of it right now without really beating a good team yet, so I wouldn't be complaining too much.
  9. Meh. I can't be too upset about what's going on seeing how injury-free we were last year up until Pickett and Woodson got banged up towards the end of the season. This year, we've lost Harris and Jenkins for the season, Rodgers is visibly banged up with no real backup quarterback, Hawk has been banged up, Woodson has been playing with a broken toe, and both of our safeties have missed multiple games so far. It's been a mess, but yet we still play in the NFC. We have a tough schedule, but if we can steal one at Seattle next week, this loss doesn't hurt as much.

  13. I really don't mind the LDS as a 5 game series. Don't forget, we really benefitted from that in 2003.
  14. You'll beat us, pretty easily I might add. This team is done. This is the type of loss that just kills you for the rest of the season. Losing Cullen Jenkins was probably the worst thing that could've happened because now we can't get pressure on the quarterback. Seattle and Indianapolis before the bye and then you guys and Minnesota right after it. What a depressing turn of events.
  15. Nope. Sigh, 2-3.
  16. Come on a-holes, get the onside.
  17. Congrats on the division.
  18. That's the dagger.
  19. 4 plays and 80 yards later, we're tied at 17! GREG JENNINGS!
  20. TRAMON WILLIAMS! INT in the endzone gives the Packers the ball back.
  21. 17-10 with only a few seconds left before the 4th. Should be at least 17-13, but we had a holding call cancel out 3 points right before the half and then Crosby missed the 52 yarder. Defense needs a big stop and/or a turnover. We're throwing it all over them, I don't know why we're only throwing short passes.
  22. Looks like McCarthy finally decided to let Rodgers throw the ball that drive and what do you know, we get a TD out of it. Seriously, if you're not going to start throwing the ball until the 2nd quarter, we should've just let Flynn start.
  23. Oh yeah, that's going to turn out so much better. I had zero expectations for this team....if they manage to win the division, that would be awesome. I'm sure you guys will.
  24. I'm not worried at all if Rodgers plays. If he does play, I just hope the line decides to show up. The last thing we need is for Rodgers to take another hit that hurts his shoulder. I'm like 90% sure that Flynn will start tomorrow and we'll lose. It's just been that kind of week.
