    I'm anxiously awaiting Saturday and being able to go to Ryan Field. Northwestern has had their fair share of trouble with I-AA competition in recent years and they have had a tendency to play down to their competition for as long as I can remember, so I do think we'll be very much in this game. Bacher is probably going to get his fair share of yards, but I do think it'll be a game that we can go in there and hopefully pull out. As long as our front seven can contain Sutton and Conteh, we'll be ok. Realistically, I'm just hoping for a close game and for us to put up a respectable effort. Illinois should cruise to another easy win as well.

    Incredibly. You went down pretty far in my book. Well, I'm mainly rooting for Favre first off. And second off a good Jets season helps the Packers out. A Packers-Jets Super Bowl is nice to think about, no matter how unlikely it is.

    Barely. I think SIU is going to have a good chance at going in there to contend for a win next Saturday afternoon. SIU defeated Hampton 37-31 tonight, although the score was a lot closer than the game actually was. 14 of Hampton's 31 points came on luck plays that were tipped by our DB's (and should've been picks) that landed right into the Hampton wideouts' hands. Our 3-4 defense looked awesome against the run as we held former Tennessee RB LaMarcus Coker to only 20 yards on 10 carries. NIU choked again in the 4th quarter. Not a good start for Jerry Kill.

    Pam Ward and this other guy are so awful. I liked the previous Ohio drive where the guy got his downs messed up. Ballgame.

    Huh. Is it just one year? Any idea if it's neutral or at either Mizzou/SIU? It's a 1-AA opponent, it's going to be in Columbia. Hmm...I don't think I realized SIU was 1-AA. If you were an Eastern Illinois fan and had to keep dealing with them beating you in close games, you would know it too well :( Except last year when we blew you guys out :wink: Yeah it's unfortunate we're I-AA, but I don't really mind it all that much. We'll have a new stadium by 2012, so we'll see if that will lead to bigger things.

    Looks like SIU and Missouri have verbally agreed to play each other in 2012. Yuck, I was enjoying these games against winnable I-A opponents like Indiana and NIU in recent years. Northwestern next week could be a winnable game as well; same with Marshall and Ole Miss a little bit down the road. But playing Illinois in 2010 and Missouri in 2012 is going to be bad. Very bad.

    It's a "crappy" start according to some. Who in the heck is saying that? I haven't given up on this game, but we better score in the next two innings because we have never been able to do anything off of Valverde. Hmmm... one poster said the Cubs had the worst pitching in baseball and that Dempster's stuff looked terrible... I'm no scout but it looked more or less the same as what I've seen all year :confused: I'm not going to read 30 pages worth of posts, but if so, that may classify as one of the dumbest posts of the season. Worst pitching in baseball? Dempster's stuff is terrible? The same Dempster that is putting up close to a Cy Young season? Hmm...not seeing the knowledge there.

    He's also the guy that threw the first pitch about 50 feet to the left of home plate. That was embarrassing. His hockey play can't be much worse than that.

    Why would they put anyone on the 15 day DL when hey can have up to 40 men on the active roster? That's true, but the main point is we should take it cautious with him for about 3 more starts then have him make his final two starts of the season so he'd be ready to go for the playoffs. I'm really not that concerned about this. I really think it's probably just a tired arm more than anything else, at least that's what I keep telling myself.

    Eh, well that was frustrating. Could've easily rolled over and died in the 6th, but we fought. Too bad Lee decided to be a rally killer once again. At least the Brewers lost. Please salvage one of these three tomorrow.

    I agree with this post. He posts that crap to get a rise. Gee, let's always post that the worst possible outcome is going to happen in the heat of the moment to piss everyone off. Someone who posts something to get a rise is trolling. More like venting than trolling. The team is playing like absolute filth. I dare anyone here to deny that. Were all thinking it, so why cant people post it? Exactly. I thought game thread's were supposed to be heat of the moment and posts were reactionary; that's all mine was. In no way was I trolling or trying to get a rise out of anyone. Why would I do that?
