  1. It's year three and Groce still hasn't recruited a big ten caliber point or center and his offense is a train wreck. It's been damn near a decade since we were really good. Thomas can't make good coaches want our jobs. The football hire was awful, and everyone questioned the basketball hire at the time too. That doesn't speak too well of his ability to find a coach. I understand he was turned down like 4 or 5 times before calling upon Groce, but that still reflects on him as an AD. Our school doesn't really care. Look at Michigan paying up for Harbaugh, we don't do that. We just lucked into some downstate kids and happened to have Bill Self for a few years. We are now back to being what we are. Pretty depressing. Well, there's a little bit of a difference between Michigan football and Illinois.

  3. So when's Mike Thomas on the hot seat?
  4. yeah and it fell apart due in large part to a couple of major draft pick failures That's what I thought but he does deserve some credit for bringing in some of those guys during that run. Of course, he totally botched the line the last several years of his tenure.
  5. Didn't the Bears actually have a pretty good offensive line in the mid 2000's?
  6. They were really pretty good all season, they just had one of the toughest schedules in the nation. Bielema knows what he's doing.
  7. Thank God. No one gets [expletive] Epix, now I can DVR it Not really sure why the NHL thought it was a good idea to put that show on a station that nobody gets. I'm in the same boat -- DVR'ing that whole block.
  8. Pretty sure he got fined for both of those hits on Cutler. If he stepped on Cutler last week intentionally, he would've been suspended too.
  9. He's not going to look good regardless so who cares dude wears like hanes XXXL t-shirts and shorts to work with 30 year old tube socks he's like a real life version of muumuu homer hahahaha, yes. He's a really, really, really weird guy too. I can't listen to that show for more than 10 minutes before feeling like I need to switch the station.
  10. To me, he looks like Tony Kornheiser with like an extra 25-30 years on him. Curious George, for sure.
  11. Boers looks like a chimp. Very strange looking dude. Spiegel has to be pushing four bills.
  12. Honestly, I thought Detroit matched up well with Dallas before the suspension. They have a historically good run defense and the Cowboys are obviously a really good running team. Now, not so much. Hope that was worth it, Suh.
  13. Pretty sure they already said that Gruden would be getting another year in Washington.
  14. Or even an Arizona team starting its third string QB. Looks like even if Seattle loses, they'd need Arizona to lose also to get a bye. Or a GB/Detroit tie and Dallas win. I would gladly take Arizona. Now I am hoping for a GB win and play the Lions. I'm guessing Dallas just rests a lot of guys since the games of importance are all after they play. The Seahawks should just be given a bye to the NFC Championship. The only way Seattle wouldn't really have a bye to the title game is if Detroit could manage to beat Dallas in the Wild Card game. I still think Seattle would beat Detroit, but that would obviously be much more of a challenge than Arizona or Carolina/ATL. Of course, that's assuming that the Packers beat the Lions which shouldn't be a given considering how inept they looked in Detroit earlier this season.
  15. The problem with Noah is that he's had a ton of nagging injuries the last few years. Plantar fasciitis is an injury that I don't think will ever really go away. I've always thought that the peak of his career would, unfortunately, be relatively short because of injuries. Because of Noah's injuries, Pau being 34, the uncertainty of Butler's future, and the fact that Rose could die at any time, this year (to me, anyway) feels like a Finals or bust season.
  16. I feel old......Bernstein wasn't grey when I moved away from Chicago Isn't he only like 43? He sure went grey pretty quickly.
  17. What do you have against pocket squares? Nothing -- but a pocket square should never match the tie, lest the gentleman wearing it wishes to appear clownish. It doesn't matter what that guy's wearing, he'll always look like a clown.
  18. Considering it's Bowden, that definitely means it's true.
  19. Most kids who are being recruited are barely old enough to remember the last time Nebraska was a national contender. It's hard to recruit on tradition when you've been pretty irrelevant for the better part of 15 years. yes this. I'm 21 and I barely remember Eric Crouch. Nebraska as a national contender is not something that I remember. If I was 4 years younger, Nebraska would mean nothing to me. To be fair, I grew up in North Carolina and it might be different in the Midwest, but still. I was 13 when they made the title game against Miami, and I always remembered that team as the sacrificial lamb to one of the better teams in recent memory. Outside of that, they've been pretty non-existent on the national landscape.

  21. I think you gotta account for Jays fumbles as that causes a big hit to his overall efficiency over a "normal" QB. Also re: Clements, I though Philbin was the QB whisperer there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk McCarthy's the "QB whisperer" there...whatever the hell that means.
  22. I love Jerry Kill. You Minnesota people better never run him out of town.
  23. I think what really frustrates him is how there have been a couple of games this year where Rose is supposedly good to go, only for him to rule himself out 15 minutes prior to tipoff. Based on Thibs relationship with management, I'm a little surprised he's waited this long to publically say something about what's been going on with Rose this year. The question that started the whole "outburst" yesterday had to do with Rose being fatigued when he only played in 24 minutes. I don't really blame Thibs for being upset about the whole situation.
