My issue with them is that they have not once sold high on a player, and haven't gotten any legitimate compensation to show for it. They've constantly overvalued their own guys to the point where they've spurned offers for Kobe and KG. It was stupid at the time and it looks absolutely ridiculous now. At one point, Tyrus Thomas actually did have some semblance of value in this league. Instead of acting on it, they thought he was part of "the core" and, well, that didn't really work out that well for them. Deng, Gordon, Hinrich, Tyrus, Noah, hell, even Thibs...the list is just going to continue to grow too. Out of all of those guys, they've ended up with McDermott and a Kings pick in a few years, while not getting a legitimate difference maker when they've had several opportunities to. Drafting Jimmy was a home run, and Taj turned out to be pretty decent, although I think he's overpaid now. But Marquis Teague when Thibs wanted Draymond Green? That's bad. I'm just hoping that if Hoiberg fails, GarPax are actually held accountable for once.
