  1. I've always wondered that too. And when your profession deals with talking about athletes who are, for the most part, actually in shape...its even more embarrassing that you let yourself get to that point.
  2. How is that different from normal?
  3. Rofl on that one. why is that so hard to believe? You really believe that?
  4. football especially with the small sample schedule Aside from fewer games, how do you figure? fewer games in which things like fumbles, pick 6's, and other fluke plays completely reverse outcomes which is how a [expletive] team like the 2001 bears ends up with a first round bye Hockey.
  5. what in the world lol. That has to be a joke, right? Besides being right handed and having the ability to play multiple positions in the infield...sure, why not?
  6. That shouldn't be that hard to do. He wasn't awful last night, but you can't depend on him in a pennant race as a starter.
  7. Two more hits for Gleyber today, including another double.
  8. Resident bigot Chris Broussard is getting into a war of words on Twitter with Mark Cuban. This should be good.
  9. Coolest sporting event I've ever been to. Unless the Cubs win the World Series, I don't think I'll ever experience something as awesome as that in person.
  10. Hawks-Bruins was really good too.
  11. Yeah, it was very even throughout after the initial push by Tampa. I don't really think the Hawks stole the game. The Lightning only ended up with 23 shots on goal and I'd guess that after the first 5 minutes, they probably only had about 17-18 shots on goal in 55 minutes. Find a way to win on Saturday and they're in a world of hurt.
  12. As soon as it became evident that Tampa was hoping 1 goal would stand up, I felt a little more confident that somehow, the Hawks would score a goal. Outside of that Callahan breakaway, they only had one real good scoring chance in the third before Teuvo's goal. Nothing like hoping one goal would hold up against the Hawks...lol.
  13. I like him already.
  14. And just to clarify, I don't think Forman or Paxson are terrible. They're not. They're actually quite okay when it comes to many of the other situations in the league.
  15. Why would a competitive team regularly sell high on players they need to stay competitive? To potentially get an actual difference maker? While it was clear that guys like Deng and Gordon were decent, I don't think anybody legitimately thought they were a first or even a second option on a championship team. The reluctance to trade their own guys that they drafted for proven stars like Kobe and KG will always be in my mind when it comes to this regime.
  16. My issue with them is that they have not once sold high on a player, and haven't gotten any legitimate compensation to show for it. They've constantly overvalued their own guys to the point where they've spurned offers for Kobe and KG. It was stupid at the time and it looks absolutely ridiculous now. At one point, Tyrus Thomas actually did have some semblance of value in this league. Instead of acting on it, they thought he was part of "the core" and, well, that didn't really work out that well for them. Deng, Gordon, Hinrich, Tyrus, Noah, hell, even Thibs...the list is just going to continue to grow too. Out of all of those guys, they've ended up with McDermott and a Kings pick in a few years, while not getting a legitimate difference maker when they've had several opportunities to. Drafting Jimmy was a home run, and Taj turned out to be pretty decent, although I think he's overpaid now. But Marquis Teague when Thibs wanted Draymond Green? That's bad. I'm just hoping that if Hoiberg fails, GarPax are actually held accountable for once.
  17. A team that is right near the floor who might be thinking they're getting a guy who was close to winning the Conn Smythe a couple of years ago. All it takes is one stupid team to make a deal.
  18. I said during the game last night that he's useless, but he has been throwing some hits and I guess that's worth something. Versteeg would be just as lost but not bringing any physical aspect to the game. Might as well play Carcillo. Can't believe I just typed that. Seems like whenever Bickell gets the puck, he gets knocked down too. A guy his size getting pushed around on the ice shouldn't be happening.
  19. Bickell needs to be traded ASAP. Wonder if Tallon would be interested in him at all, but you can't have this guy back on the team next year when he's making the money that he's making. Hopefully he's scratched tomorrow. Versteeg's brutal but he's not as bad as Bickell has been in this series. He's been completely useless.
  20. This was my biggest issue for the majority of the third period yesterday. Seemed like they were content in just passing the puck back and forth and not really sustaining any attack on net. I think from the start of the third period up until the final minute of the game, they only had one decent chance at legitimately scoring a goal. I never want to see Nordstrom again. That guy is completely useless -- there's not one thing that he does well, yet Q gives him way more opportunities than he should get.
  21. [tweet] [/tweet] oh my god.
  22. I think they actually played better at the end of that Coyotes series besides the last game where they just crapped the bed. Also, didn't realize that 5 out of 6 of those games went to OT. Nuts. Crawford gave up two of the softest game winning goals that I can remember in Games 3 and 4 of that series.
  23. Brennaman? These idiots announced the series last year against the Kings too.
