  1. Pat is right, and Milbury is as an idiot as usual. The NHL wants to grow the game, then don't have 8:42pm starts on weeknights in local areas. It happens in the NBA too. The Warriors-Rockets game was at 8:30 last night, even though Houston's in the central time zone. It just comes with being in the Western Conference -- I don't think it's that big of a deal. As much as I'd like to rag on the NHL for being stupid about something, I don't think they are in this case. Maybe the Hawks should petition to move to the East if they don't like the late start times?
  2. Shaw officially suspended for tomorrow.
  3. Never thought I'd see the Hawks morph into the Blues, but here we are. Shaw's a punk, but I think all of us have known that since day 1. I know he's probably been the most productive forward this series (which is more of an indictment on how bad the stars have been), but I really can't wait until he's gone.
  4. He's not going to be a full-time catcher going forward anyway. I don't see why he wouldn't be able to catch 30-40 games a year for the next few years.
  5. Hamilton's career VS the Cubs: .321/.382/.482 Hamilton's career VS everyone else: .232/.275/.311 Obviously a small sample size compared to the rest of the league but... :barf:
  6. I'm still holding out hope that it's not a season ender.
  7. I'm pretty shamelessly rooting for them to get to 73. I am too. If that makes me a bad Bulls fan, so be it.
  8. I remember after the Cubs traded for Nomar in 2004, I thought "omg there is no weak spot in the order!" And there really wasn't, but this lineup is like so much better. That was such a fun lineup after July 31st. Shame they didn't make the crap shoot that year.
  9. 5 games rest for Keith before the playoffs wouldn't be the worst thing in the world either. Hopefully that guy is right.
  10. Former NSBB great reds44 getting his tweets screenshot on here!
  11. Please lose out.
  12. Low risk, potential decent reward move. He's an improvement over the garbage that's been at TE since Finley broke his neck.
  13. Agreed on Gustafsson. That article about Theo et. al. testing the reaction times of draftees to find guys who can dominate at the upper levels? You can SEE Gusty reacting faster than everyone else on the ice. Give him some development time and I think he'll be better than the big three. Wait you think he will be better than Keith, Seabrook and Hjalmarsson? That's a bold statement Better than a definite HOF, a fringe HOF, and a really good player...yeah, a bold statement is probably an understatement there. I'm just hoping he can be a quality second pairing defenseman.
  14. And yet that buffoon still has a job.
  15. Ugh. Maybe a lack of control (real or perceived) will negate the injury excuse and cost Groce his job at the end of the season. This season had some promise, but what a [expletive] train wreck. I feel bad for Groce. A lot of this crap isn't his fault. That said he hasn't recruited to the level we need nor shown enough with X and O's to stick around. Time for a change. Nice guy though, will cheer for him wherever he lands, unlike Weber. Why? Weber was a nice guy too, just not a great coach. Hard for me to feel bad for Groce -- he's a bad coach and was a bad hire from jump.
  16. That's practically a lock at this point.
  17. They seem to be perfectly content being in NBA hell for the foreseeable future. That's the only explanation I can come up with.
  18. Again, I hate this team.
  19. I hate this team.
  20. I know he was limited by his defense and didn't have as much power as some like in their corner OF, but I still have a hard time understanding why he didn't get more of a shot. Not just with the Cubs, but in MLB in general. Yeah, I'm surprised nobody took a chance on him these last few years. He's not that old and his numbers were never bad. Who didn't love Murton?
  21. The Lakers are one big steaming pile of trash. Nice to see the Bulls actually blow out a team that they're supposed to.
  22. Has he dunked once this year? The game against OKC on Christmas, they originally credited him for a dunk on a layup, but took it away from him. I just wish he would be able to do what he did last night on a consistent basis. He still hasn't lost any of his speed from all of the knee surgeries -- just be more aggressive.
  23. The AFC, meanwhile, will pit Brandon Weeden, Alex Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Brock Osweiler and AJ McCarron against the Patriots for a Super Bowl bid. My team will almost certainly have to beat 2 of Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers and Carson Palmer to get there. This strikes me as lame. Rodgers and the Packers are barely a threat to mediocre teams at this point. It's an easy win for the Panthers unless they decide to suck. Beat the Bucs at home next week, and you've got to like the chances much better of playing a home game in the NFC championship, even if it's Arizona. You're right it's not a fair balance between the NFC and AFC, but there is a winnable path to the Super Bowl for the Panthers. I'm not feeling a whole lot of sympathy for you :-) Yeah, outside of Arizona, the rest of the NFC is trash too. I suppose you can include Seattle in there, but they had no excuse to lose that game yesterday to a bad Rams team and they did.
