  1. you're dadgum right.
  2. Thats not what I read at all. I read that the proposal is they would be grandfathered in, and a new rule would be putt in place going forward. If these terms are not accepted, then an investigation would be opened. that's exactly what i read. Considering that's what "grandfathering" means, that's what I read too. Now if you're going to make up your own definition for what being grandfathered actually means, then I can see where Wilson's coming from. Actually, I still can't.
  3. It's all about NIU-Iowa State and SIU-Quincy tonight!
  4. I was really looking forward to that Boise State-Virginia Tech game on Labor Day but after seeing the jerseys that they're going to sport...yuck.
  5. Richardson is better than Ingram, imo. I think so too.
  6. It's the same thing as last year. Our offense looks amazing but our defense looks suspect, although quite a few guys haven't played in the preseason. The team was very laid-back in their approach when the real season started and we weren't real crisp on offense. They've vowed to change that this year and use the same approach that we did in the second half of the season last year, but we'll see. Overconfidence is a major issue with a young team and I really hope we learned from our disappointing first half last season. Nobody is confident about our defense. I think everyone is fearing the types of games that we had against Pittsburgh and Arizona last year, especially if Harris is PUP-bound. I'm pretty optimistic that they'll be better against the pass this season than we were at the end of last season, but that's not saying a whole lot. Opening day will tell us a lot about where we stand defensively against the Eagles attack. Wasn't the Packers defense much improved last year? Sort of. It was really deceptive because we struggled stopping the pass against the likes of Minnesota, Pittsburgh, and Arizona. All of the NFC North teams had relatively weak schedules last year, so we were able to feast on the likes of St. Louis, Detroit twice, Cleveland, etc. Our run defense is legitimately good, but our pass defense is still very suspect. We're going to be very thin at secondary to start the season as well with Harris and Bigby being placed on the PUP list. Last year, our offensive line was our major concern until the final few weeks of the season. That unit improved significantly as the year progressed and I'm not even really worried about the line now. Our secondary is a different story. Woodson, Harris, and Tramon Williams is a pretty good corner trio. The problem is since Harris is hurt, Williams is put into the #2 spot and then we have a revolving door for our nickel and dime backs. Our schedule isn't easy at all this year but if there is an easy part to it, it'd have to be at the beginning of the season. I think we're putting a lot of trust into an aging Al Harris getting back to form this year but we're going to need him as the season wears on.

  8. I'm going to go through hell to make sure I'm able to attend that game.
  9. Jaws and Gruden are simply awful. I lost count of how many times I was just laughing at some of their boneheaded comments regarding the game, in general, and the Packers. Aaron Rodgers isn't an elite quarterback? I don't know how 'those people' still exist after another phenomenal year last year, but I guess they're still there. Oh and Gruden confusing Ryan Grant for Dorsey Levens was pretty good too. When Sam Shields picked off a pass to finally end the game, Gruden just goes, "That guy is going to be a Green Bay Packer, I guarantee it." Pretty bold statement still for a guy that's fighting for the 53rd and final roster spot. That's the worst national crew by ten miles. I cringe everytime I watch MNF because of them. Tirico is fine when he's not paired up with those two imbeciles, but even he dumbs down to their level.
  10. Rose makes the cut, while the guy that's better than him failed to make the roster. Edit: Now word is spreading that Rondo just simply withdrew from the team.
  11. That's definitely lol worthy.
  12. I hate preseason football way more than Cris Collinsworth. I actually kind of like him You could do worse than Collinsworth. I'd take him over the #1 analysts on the other networks.
  13. False I was going to say, I thought he only did that in New York. That's what I meant. He distanced himself from everyone on Green Bay near the end of his run as well. Jennings and Driver were really the only guys he was cool with.
  14. That whole sequence was quite awkward. But it's something that should be expected from Hendry by now.
  15. We've been there for quite some time now.
  16. I'm pretty sure that was actually Ohman who was throwing the 50 foot curveballs.
  17. Rodgers stats through two games - 20/24, 275 yards, 3 TD's, 0 INT's, 0 sacks, 154.0 QB rating. Let's get the regular season going.
  18. I'm not going to let a preseason game determine what I think of him. I do hope we pressure him consistently on opening day, though.
  19. Yep, these are the most important games of the season. Damn you, Hendry.
  20. Best candy you'll find. Lucky might be an understatement.
  21. Montana makes a lot of sense. They're the best I-AA program in the land and their basketball team made the NCAA Tournament not too long ago.
  22. Soriano's a much better option at 1B than guys like Hoffpauir and Nady.
  23. I think the whole reason they joined the MWC was to play TCU every year. Obviously losing Utah and BYU hurt the top part of the conference, but gaining Fresno State and Nevada will still make it a pretty good non-BCS conference. The new MWC is still going to end up being better than the old WAC. The MWC just won't be as strong as Boise State initially thought.
  24. Excited is certainly an interesting word to use there.
