    That was horrible. I'm so tired of poor officiating in these games. It's like if you're the underdog in college football, you also have to beat the refs. There's no reason why it should have came to that. That one drive ultimately led to 3 free points for Ohio State, which was big before that final drive. Giving up 7 right before the half hurt a ton. At the very least, Illinois should have been tied at 10 heading into the locker room. I can't rag on the defense though. They look much improved and considering they seemed like they were on the field the whole game, they did about as good of a job as possible against Ohio State. I came away pretty impressed with Illinois but also not impressed at all with tOSU. Terrelle Pryor has to be the most overrated player in the country and Tressel has no faith in him to throw the football.

    Beach and Makarov were re-assigned to Rockford today. Morin and Leddy are going to have a shot to make the opening night roster. Pretty impressive.

    Michigan will win by at least 10. This. As long as Denard Robinson doesn't get hurt, Michigan isn't going to lose to any teams like Indiana. Michigan and Indiana both finished 1-7 in the Big Ten last year so I find that comment kind of funny. At the moment I'm not sure there is that much really separating the two teams. Yes, Denard Robinson is incredible but Michigan will have just as much trouble stopping the IU offense. There were will be a ton of points scored either way so special teams and turnovers will make the difference. Plus nobody really knows how good Michigan is yet. I expect this game to be just as close as last year's version.

    I'd be surprised if Bush was available...McFadden's had 3 good games. I'd guess they at least want to feel out this season with him. If the Packers are willing to overpay by a decent amount, I think it'd be a good idea to deal Bush. If they don't get a really good deal for him, though, you're probably right. If we're willing to overpay, I'd take Williams or Lynch ahead of Bush. But again, any of those options sound outstanding to me right about now.

    Apparently Thompson was talking to a few teams about the following players: Marshawn Lynch, Fred Jackson, Steve Slaton, Michael Bush and DeAngelo Williams. Get any of them in here.

    Already been beaten to death, but I don't really know what that has to do with ESPN being a bad network. Making the Heat their go-to team, on the other hand, certainly does.

    I have some concerns, but not many. Obviously the lack of a running game hurts, but I'm hopeful that we're going to swing a trade before the deadline. One thing that upsets me is we have better tackles that aren't getting enough burn. Bulaga should be at LT and TJ Lang should be at RT. There's no excuse to continue to play Clifton and Tauscher. Our defense has held up very well despite missing Harris and Bigby for the first three games. I'm really impressed by that. Once we get them back after week 6, that should give us plenty of depth there -- something that we're solely lacking right now. Special teams is always a concern for this team, just because they're not coached well. The stupid ginger punter was fine the first two games but he was obviously a mess on Monday. Jordy Nelson has really impressed me as a kick returner, though. Every team has some weaknesses. I think we're fine compared to most teams around the league. Our strengths far outweigh our negatives.

    Is he the best coach on his own team? Lovie looks a WHOLE lot better when he has other guys that know what they're doing calling plays and able to do their job. Lovie doesn't have to do as much with this team as he has since he forced out Ron Rivera. Marinelli, Tice and Martz are all doing a really great job with this team. It's a team that's developing. Tommie Harris, Zach Bowman...I don't think those guys get pulled last year. I think that's Marinelli doing that. It might also speak volumes as to how bad both McCarthy and Childress are. Ultimately, the head coach is still responsible for who's going into and out of the game. If he doesn't deserve some credit for going 3-0, including beating two teams that are better on paper than his club, then I really don't know what it's going to take for Bears fans to cater to Smith. 29th in penalties in 07 31st in penalties in 08 32nd in penalties in 09 Again, THAT'S a sign of bad coaching. We're well on our way to duplicating that this year.

    All of our penalties were legit. Good God. All I'll say is that a lack of discipline and bad Special Teams play usually equals poor coaching. Mike McCarthy wins in spite of his talent. He's not a good coach. 18 penalties...lol. Lovie Smith's the best coach in the division, btw.

    I heard Clifton is playing, but it was someone just talking. I don't have an official word. He practiced the last two days, so he should be good to go.

    I've always compared ND football recruits to Duke basketball recruits. No matter who they get, their rankings will always be high just because it's the name of the school. Weis really left the program bare. I don't see how any of this is Kelly's fault. For God's sake, they lost to three teams that are better than them. Once the coach gets his players into that system, I think things will pick up for them. Kelly's track record has proven that he's a good coach. I wouldn't let three losses cloud my vision in terms of that.

There is nothing to suggest the Bears are capable of beating Green Bay, let alone by double digits. i agree the double digit victory is a longshot, but to say they've shown "nothing to suggest the bears are capable of beating green bay" is ridiculous. Yeah, I'm really not all that confident about this game. I don't see why the Bears can't win at home against us tonight.
