  1. Were the Magic already over the cap? Let's say they were, say, $4 million under the cap before they matched. Then they would only be paying $10 mlilion more for Redick. I believe I read they were already fully over. With the signings of Duhon and Q, I'm pretty sure they were over the cap.
  2. So they're basically paying Redick $14 million this upcoming season. Have fun.
  3. All the more reason to make a deal for Rip. Yuck. I'd much rather just have BG back.
  4. He has to fear for his life everytime he comes to Chicago. It would've been nice, but there's no chance that was going to materialize.
  5. I got an e-mail from Amazon this morning telling me my DVD is backordered and will take awhile and I can cancel the order if I want. I might do that and buy the blu-ray one. I got the same e-mail. I'm thinking I might do the same.
  6. Seriously, what a cheap shot to begin with. Why is stuff like that going on in a team's camp? i have no idea, i watched another video of beach fighting brannon and no one really made any effort to break it up. maybe they see it as part of camp and the evaluation process, which would be idiotic. They definitely do, and talked about it not being uncommon to see a fight a day, or maybe more. I still think it's absurd that they talk about players with high penalty minutes in a positive light, given the importance of power plays. It's a very odd mindset. I see wanting your chippy guys to be a little chippy, but crosschecking from behind and fighting serves very little purpose. If a guy needs to learn to fight, he can do it during the season. I've never understood, for the life of me, why teams put a great deal of emphasis on individual penalty minutes. Just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
  7. LeBron had significant input on all those transactions. And he also hamstrung the team by taking shorter contracts himself. Oh come on. You think Cleveland management went to James to see who he wanted and he said Jamison? Absolutely. Any move that Ferry made had to be OK'd by GM James.
  8. http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/basket_1992/ Charles Barkley is the greatest player to never win a ring.
  9. Again, this wouldn't be as bad if he never claimed that he was the "Chosen One" or "King James." All along, his goals were to become the richest athlete ever and to be a more renowned athlete than Michael Jordan. I have a hard time believing that he'll become more renowned than Dwyane Wade now, let alone Michael Jordan. The SI cover tells it all. If LeBron is willing to take a back seat, more power to him. He's contradicting himself if he actually does take a back seat. What happens if the Heat don't win this year? The pressure that's going to be on those guys will be enormous. When the pressure's on LeBron, we've seen what he's done the last few years. Of course I'm hoping they fail enormously, but there's no way that this thing is going to be as successful as they're all making it out to be.
  10. I don't think they will. This worries me. The owner is like 140 years old and is worth 4 billion dollars. Money is no object for him. Or Smith might want to bring him back and he can't get approval from the owner. I didn't take too much away from that quote.
  11. You can only trade the guys that other teams will trade for. Right, but I refuse to believe that there's zero interest for Campbell. He came off a very solid playoff run and showed his worth. Couple that in with the Islanders needing to just reach the salary floor and I have an extremely difficult time believing that there hasn't been an offer for him. i don't think campbell would approve a trade to the isles. Does he have an NTC? If so, ouch. I wouldn't want to leave if I were him, except maybe for a chance to go home and play in Ontario. He has a limited NTC.
  12. I don't think they will.

  14. I'll be furious if we trade Sharp. Nothing like trading four pretty solid forwards (including one real good one in Sharp) over trading one single defenseman who's making a ton of money over the next five years. And yes, I realize we wouldn't have been able to keep all four of the forwards. But we would've been able to keep Sharp and one of the other three for sure.
  15. Pat Hughes is the best broadcaster in baseball for having to deal with Santo on a daily basis.
  16. There's not going to be a season next year if the owners truly are that adament about a hard cap.
  17. I don't remember any criticism at all Also, Foley was in love with him all season Yeah, I always thought that he was one of our more consistent players all year long.
  18. If it's like other sports, the Blackhawks matched so they have to pay him whatever the Sharks offered him and he is still a Blackhawk. He's a Blackhawk. Especially when Seabrook gets his, that's way too much money to have tied up in your top four defensemen. I don't care how good they are. So far this offseason, the most disappointing thing to me is that Campbell is still on the team. Trading Campbell would have solved a few issues. Sure your defensive pairings take a hit, but he actually had value across the league after a solid postseason run. I'm not really sure if his value will ever be higher and plus, we're stuck with that albatross of a contract for years and years. Thank God we matched Hammer, though.
  19. Who knows? I wonder if he'd be interested in going to Miami once Fisher decides to stay with LA. And can Jesse Jackson have his vocal cords removed? Anyone crying about racism in the aftermath of this whole situation isn't all there. But again, consider the source.
  20. I don't understand what the wait is for.
  21. Ronnie Brewer or Matt Barnes to play defense. I'm almost positive that we'll sign one of those guys. Trade for Jamal Crawford?
  22. That's exactly what it is. Pat Riley is Eric Bischoff. It all makes sense now. Plus King Douche's interview happened in Greenwich, which is close to WWE headquarters. They had this planned out since the Bulls dynasty days!
  23. I'm thinking about adopting the Bulls as my team. It's either the Bulls or the Thunder. Go with both.
  24. I can't wait to have everyone on here rooting alongside me before the Heat poo all over the Celtics in the 2nd round. Talk about a "can both teams lose?" situation. Nope, I'm a big Celtics fan now too.
