  1. Looks like I'm following the pattern of when I watch, the Bulls stink. When I don't, they play well.
  2. yeah, I just looked at their roster, I can't think of one either. http://m.cardinals.mlb.com/roster/ Oh well, Dex has his money, long-term deal, and we'll still love him forever.
  3. Yeah, pretty much this. Boers has mailed it in the last few years, but you can tell he's actually a likable guy whenever he's either not on with Bernstein or if he's writing a column on 670. Really sad news.
  4. That Butler game would've been huge if they could have gotten it. But if they win tonight and take care of business against the rest of their non-con schedule, they'll be in pretty good shape entering B1G play.
  5. Yeah, I'm at the point now where I'm hoping they just lose out so that would at least guarantee a complete overhaul of the coaching staff.
  6. I think that's true for just about every team seeded 4th-8th in both conferences, honestly. They've been a lot of fun to watch so far this year. Outside of the Christmas game against OKC and a couple of those games against the Cavs last year, watching them was like watching paint dry. Even last night in a game that wasn't pretty, I was still cool with watching them during a weeknight when they were out west. I definitely wouldn't have even bothered with that last year.
  7. Same. Hopefully a cleansing occurs on Black Monday.
  8. yeah, agreed. Re-sign Chapman just for the sake that you wouldn't have to give up a pick.
  9. Every bar in Wrigleyville is charging a $100 cover tonight. Just a heads up for those that are venturing out there and for those of us that don't like carrying cash.
  10. I tried to retweet this only to discover that Paul Sullivan blocked me on Twitter at some point. Lol. Join the club. I had no idea I was blocked by him until a couple of weeks ago -- I didn't even say anything bad to him, lol.
  11. seriously. Fly his ass back in from Paris if they win the next two games and have him throw out the first pitch, sing the stretch, retire his number, and win the WS.
  12. That's what I was concerned about too. If the gusts are approaching nearly 40 MPH tomorrow night, I'm a bit relieved that he wasn't cleared to play the OF. Hopefully this just results in Soler getting a dong now.
  13. Montero behind the plate, against an Indians team who loves to run, would be a very bad decision. We tried the personal catcher horsefeathers with Jake in LA, and that obviously didn't change much. Go with one of your best hitters and a guy who can actually keep baserunners at bay with his arm, please.
  14. The only time I won one of these lotteries was for the Mets series last year, and we know how that ended up. If we end up winning the WS, I'm taking credit for striking out on the Cardinals series last year and then all 3 this year.
  15. Considering going into Wrigleyville tomorrow, so I'd be down for that too.
  16. Me too, but I don't think Joe's going to do that against a RHP that Heyward actually got an XBH off of.
  17. Who? Some negative nancy. Unspellable name...nobody worth a second thought. Jamfan?
  18. It'd be one thing if it was just a 2 or 3 game stretch and this was going on. But by in large, he's been off for a calendar year now. The numbers back it up too. Ever since the KC MNF game last year (when PFF had his game rated as a pretty bad game too despite the numbers he put up), he's been largely average. There really shouldn't be an excuse for him either. A lot of teams would love to kill for the OL that the Packers have, Lacy's been really good this year, Jordy's back, etc. There were a couple of plays yesterday when Rodgers had 5 seconds to throw the ball downfield, had Janis and Adams open on multiple occasions down the middle of the field, but he either overlooked them, or threw the ball really late to them. The defense is baiting Rodgers to take the middle of the field and the Packers refuse to do it, for whatever reason. A large part of the offense should fall on Rodgers, but McCarthy hasn't really done anything to change the playbook or design the WR's to get open when they're battling on man coverage.
  19. How about leave Soler on the bench where he belongs, because he's terrible defensively and according to my unofficial stat tracking has struck out 100 times this postseason. If you don't start him against Rich Hill, what's the point of even carrying him on the playoff roster then? He's a better hitter against LHP's than Heyward. The defensive point is fair, but I don't see how you can have Heyward starting against a tougher lefty again.
  20. How about Contreras in LF, Baez at SS, Zobrist at 2B, Soler in RF, and Ross at C tomorrow? I'd feel pretty good that they'd be able to generate some runs with that kind of lineup.
  21. Yeah, I've seen a couple of rooftops offer similar deals to the one that is posted on the other thread.
  22. He and Charles Davis are the B team aren't they? Or is that supposed to be Kenny Albert and Johnston (who are obviously better than anything with Brennaman involved)? I can never tell. Burkhardt and Lynch are.
