  1. 3 of the 4 worth noting, weren't even worth noting back in 2004. Only Mitre was. But yeah, that does kinda suck.
  2. I hate this fuckin franchise.
  3. Huh? i'm guessing prior won't be in the rotation to begin the season. z, maddux, williams, rusch, hill/guz/marshall. ew. Oh, that's what I get for staying away from that thread. More afraid of what I was gonna read than anything.
  4. Um, yeah. All I'm gonna say is Marte is on the Cleveland Indians.
  5. He's only got 3 from the Big East, BC is in the ACC. I think UConn takes the third round meeting myself, and I think Villanova's more prone to be upset with their lack of an inside scoring option. I still put them in the Final 4, but I'm stupid and half pick my bracket on contingencies like that. Ah, forgot about BC being in the ACC. And yeah, WVU was in the Elite 8.
  6. I don't know that I would trade Pie for Tejada at this point. I think Felix has shown he has a decent shot of being more productive (OPS wise) than Tejada in the not-too distant future.
  7. How come we couldn't ever get decent major leaguers who could consistantly hit .300 for minor league pitching when that was all we had to offer a few years ago? Too reluctant to trade the pitching. Now most of that pitching has been injured and/or didn't pan out. I blame the scouting dept who hasn't been able to help Hendry recognize when to make a trade or not. The Cubs haven't traded a minor leaguer at their peak value yet. Sanchez? Beltran? Choi? Bobby Hill too... Just because the Cubs got good return for those guys doesn't mean they were traded at their peak value. Choi was coming off an injury he never seemed to recover from. Hill struggled in the spring and was mediocre in the minors before he was traded. Sanchez had thrown horribly in the spring and his control was fading even more so than before. Jones was injured at the time he was traded. I'll give them Beltran. He was at his peak value having some ML success. Brendan Harris could go either way as he didn't get a chance in the majors to show what he could do, nor did he completely tank in the minors.
  8. Would really like to see those last 3 names up over a couple of catchers and Augie.
  9. 4 elite 8 from the Big East, and no Villanova? No West Virginia, who was in the FF last year? No, Syracuse who just romped thru the conf tourney? There's nobody that's gonna beat Villanova. UConn and Nova in the semis. Nova takes the season series 2-1 with a win, and go on to take the title.
  10. WVU is a great final 4 pick. There last year, and brought back the same team. I don't know why they've struggled to end the year, but they are dangerous if the 3's fall. I picked them in the Final 4 in one of my brackets.
  11. Any man whose name is an oxymoron is cool with me.
  12. Tourney predictions: At least 1 double digit seed goes to the Elite 8. Lamarcus Aldridge shows why he will be the best pro in college basketball. 3 Big East teams in Final 4. Michigan St. will return to the Elite 8. Villanova will win the title.
  13. Why? I would've liked to see Brees here. I would just like to see them pick up someone. We could definitely use a QB, someone like David Givens wouldn't have been bad as a #3 guy behind Muhsin and Bradley. I'd like another linebacker. We definitely need a DB. A kicker would be nice. I don't know, I just don't feel like I'm hearing anything about the Bears making any improvements this offseason. The Bears need help, I'm not calling last year a complete fluke, but that same team probably won't win 10 games next year unless they make some improvements. I don't agree with that. It all depends on injury. The team stayed healthy for the most part of 05. If Grossman grows with the offense and the young defense continues to improve....they will be a 10-win team. As I have said before, the Bears are in the position where they could stand to improve every position, but aren't in dire need of improving any one position.
  14. Anaheim has been looking for a true CF for some time now.
  15. both williams and rusch are usually horrible in ST. no worries. No worries, except that Rusch is usually horrible in the regular season, and Williams has been horrible for about 70% of the last 2 seasons.

  17. I'd rather have Nolasco back. I'm a Pinto fan, but of the guys at AA last year (Hill, Guzman, Nolasco, Marshall), I think he has the least amount of upside and the largest control issue.
  18. Not good to be a slow starter when you're competing for a job.
  19. If the trade's with Florida, my guess is the Cubs get minor league pitching for Walker. That's pretty much the only thing the franchise has to offer.
  20. Lots of moves. Culpepper to Miami Kitna to Detroit David Givens to Tennessee Antonio Bryant to SF Schoebel to Philly Mike Anderson/Jamal Lewis to Baltimore
  21. Indiana, Iowa, Memphis, Iowa, LSU.....there are plenty of teams better than last year. There is no team with the talent of last year's UNC, Illinois, and probably not even Arizona....but there are more good teams than possibly ever.
  22. Speaking of Pittsnogle, what the heck has happened to WVU? They were one of my pre-conference season Final 4 picks.
  23. Wow. Unlike most, I think Culpepper is a good QB and wasn't "made" by Randy Moss. Great move by the Dolphins.
