  1. Go Pacific! I have BC losing in Rd. 2, so ruin everyone else's bracket.
  2. =D> I need OK to lose. I need just the opposite. Well, at least in 1 bracket. Picked them Elite 8 in 1, and to lose in the 2nd in the other.
  3. Taj Gray fouls out just as he was starting to take over the game.
  4. The 2006 team photo just got uglier.
  5. Jeff or Jared Weaver? Anaheim will lose the division to Oakland, simply because they refuse to take Cabrera out of the 2-spot and refuse to just release Erstad.
  6. Would it be possible for us to pick him up and trade him again? Maybe for somebody good this time. Could easily pick him up, but I don't see trading him for someone good being a possibility.
  7. Looks like anything the Cubs get out of Brannon will win the trade for them.
  8. Wichita taking it to the Hall!
  9. Hmm. Which side would I be on? I'm younger than You, Tim, NC, Quakers, Kent (I think), and Doug (I believe) at least. Maybe Chuck and Shane too. I'm a NEWBIE!!! WOO HOO I'm 28, but some of the grey hairs might say otherwise. Yeah, you got me by a year.
  10. I probably wouldn't give up a #1 in 07. Basically trade the #1 and a later pick for those 2. I'd give up the #1 in 2007, it's going to be the 32nd pick anyway. Good way to think about it. I think of it more as players can get injured and the Bears be 5-11 again.
  11. Agreed. I don't think Pinto will ever put it together control wise. Mitre, I don't/won't miss. He could have helped out, but he was trade bait. Nolasco is the one I will regret. The fact that he was probably the 3rd pitcher to go. Is young, experienced, uninjured, and with upside sucks.
  12. who's had the most productive 1st rounders? I'd guess the Cubs are up there with Wood, Garland, Prior, and Patterson. Eh, Cards have had Drew, Kennedy, Looper, Matt Morris, Carpenter, etc.
  13. I probably wouldn't give up a #1 in 07. Basically trade the #1 and a later pick for those 2.
  14. Lopez 5th or 6th best? Only ones better last year were Rollins and possibly Furcal (Lopez was better than Furcal in my fantasy league last year). Only other close was Reyes, because of SBs. I agree with Zimmerman and Jackson though. But, like I said, Tracy should be eligible at 1B in your league, and will become at 3B because that's where he'll be this year. I'd probably start out with Klesko in the OF (or U, with Murton in OF), and look for OFs in free agency.

  16. I'd love to see them give the job to Guzman right out of the chute, and see if he can stay healthy, and/or keep his role when guys come back.
  17. Why does IU always get the latest game? 9:40 start tonight. We could go to the East and still have to play after 9. I hate late games.
  18. I don't see how this is even close to the worst team ever. Beltran is a year removed from being the 2nd best NL player. Giles and Tracy make a very solid OF. The IF is shaky, but Lopez was the best NL SS last year. Utley the best NL 2B. Barrett's a top catcher. Only problems I see is 1b and 3B, where there are plenty of big bats. The pitching is a little ugly, but you got Pedro, who could be the #1 pitcher in the NL this year. You have top 3 players (NL wise) at 2B, SS, SP, and possibly OF. I'd probably be on the lookout for OFs and look to moving Tracy to 1B or 3B, depending on who struggles.
  19. You should talk. 27 is ancient. Shut up, kid!
  20. What are Pierre's numbers?
  21. Seriously, how many 2B were more productive than Walker last year? Why is the ML (and most importantly the Cubs) treating him like he's a scrub? The whole idea of this trade is completely assinine. One man's trash is another man's addition to an already pathetic bench.
  22. It should be on one of the CBS radio stations.
  23. None, he's a step below Muhsin at this point. Agreed. He'd be worth looking at for a million or 2, but for what he'll get paid, it's not worth it.
  24. Well I saw the potential Peoria/Daytona players taking infield, BP and situational defense. I didn't see anyone pitch at all. Harvey was hitting the ton out of the ball and working on going the other way. Reed and Carter hitting the ball good as well. Norwood looked good, so did Fuld. I didn't really see anyone looking bad during BP. Games don't start until next week so it's kind of hard to get a gauge on where players are. From what I heard talking to players and coaches, Grant Johnson, Jon Hunton, Mark Pawelek, Donald Veal, Sean Gallagher, Ryan Harvey, Ryan Norwood and Yusuf Carter, Mike Phelps, and Eric Patterson are the ones who were talked about the most on looking good so far. On the injury side, Lee Gwaltney, Aaron Krawiec, Phil Norton and Alberto Garcia were among the ones rehabbing when I was visiting our 2005 trainer Matt Johnson. On a side note, it appears that our 2005 catcher Oscar Bernard is now a pitcher. He was throwing 97-98 on the gun with his fastball and will likely either start in Mesa or Boise. HA! I figured that would happen with Bernard. He has a cannon. I've heard things about his arm that I heard about Marmol a few years ago. Like Marmol, I don't think he was gonna hit enough anyway. Good move. Any idea if Reed is gonna start in Peoria? What about Carter?
  25. He didn't say they didn't get peak value, he said he wasn't traded "at his peak value". Exactly. I don't know that Choi, Hill, Jones, etc could have possibly gotten more than Lee, Ramirez, and Nomar. But the fact was their value wasn't as high as it was or could have been. All those moves were made with teams that were cutting costs.....(not including Boston, because the Cubs actually sent players to Montreal).
