  1. Redskins vs Giants and Tampa vs Carolina. Anything can happen in an offseason, but that could be significant.
  2. That's just his beard.
  3. Yeah that'd be nice.
  4. From Rapport. Great reporting I love that that makes it sound like there's a chance Tucker could stay if the defense finishes with 3 dominant games or some [expletive]. He also said there's some buyers remorse with Cutler and a big reason is him not checking out of bad run plays based on defensive looks. Which is funny considering the complaint earlier was him checking out of run plays.
  5. All the sports writers on Twitter are saying 1. Alabama 2. Oregon 3. Florida State 4. Ohio State The committee has typically given a lot of weight to winning the conference championship game. And honestly, these are probably the 4 best teams.
  6. Non conference: FSU- Notre Dame, Florida, Oklahoma State, Citadel Bama- FAU, Western Carolina, Southern Miss, WVU Those teams ended up being mediocre, but still easily the toughest of all the power conference teams in contention. And their conference schedule was better than Ohio state, TCU, or Baylor's.
  7. OSU would almost certainly be in with an FSU loss. I don't think it's unfathomable that FSU gets left out with a close win. It should be. FSU hasn't lost. To say 4 1-loss teams are better is nonsense. We were saying it about Marshall Marshall is not as good. Clearly.

  9. That's a terrible call. Let them play football.
  10. Chaminade/Virginia. Not sure how bad Chaminade was, but Michigan is no 81 'UVA
  11. Ahahahaha!
  12. I think everyone says this every time they see Mariota. And he still ends up completing 65% of his passes with 0 turnovers.
  13. Yeah, it could be done with this team. DE- Houston NT- Paea/Ferguson DE- Ratliff/Sutton OLB- Young/Allen ILB- Bostic ILB- Jones OLB- Draft pick (1st round likely)/McClellin You'd still need to pick up an ILB like you need to stay 4-3. You'd still need at least 1 really good S and a CB. And that OLB draft pick has to be really good to make the 3-4 work.
  14. I would be Ok with Phillips, but don't really want to go 3-4. It could work, but I think it would mean too many resources in the front 7, when the back 4 now needs the most work. Ratliff, Houston, and Bostic could really benefit from a move to 3-4, and the back 4 don't really change much. I'd really love to lure one of the Seattle guys away (Quinn made asst HC, with complete control on D coaches and personnel) or (DB coach, with his first DC job, with a promise of being future HC).
  15. Yeah, it's the worst situation to be in. Veteran team with a lot of high priced guys you can't get rid of. Inability to identify young talent. And no wins to show for those high paid vets, as they will be picking in NFL purgatory again. No top 5-7 pick to get a superstar talent. No playoff appearance to satisfy fans/players. Lame duck coach, GM, and QB.
  16. This franchise is stupid. Hiring a hipster GM, who unsurprisingly hires a way outside the box coach, having a franchise QB and not giving him any help for 4 years. But keeping Trestman and Emery doesn't make them stupid. Emery has no realistic shot at being fired. He's only had 3 years, and 1 of them was basically inheriting Angelo's mess of players and w/ Lovie as coach. And if there's any doubt he's the GM for the long-term, then you aren't going to push to get Trestman fired so Emery then has another chance to hire a coach. I think Trestman and Emery are tied to Cutler, for better or worse. Trestman is the QB whisperer, but can't get Cutler to stop making mistakes and make a deep playoff run. Emery made the wacky hire and gave Cutler a long-term contract without having proven he coud stop making mistakes and make a deep playoff run. And it doesn't make financial sense for Cutler to go anywhere yet. Pin it all on the DC. Try to make the veterans buy in on offense this offseason, hope Wilson isn't hurt in camp, the OL is improved, and that the defensive issues are partly scheme related. It sucks if it is a lame duck situation, but I'd much rather that than Emery hiring another dud coach.
  17. My rough count, shows 7 of Cutler's INTs and 2 of his fumbles have come in games that were already out of reach. I think his season would look a lot different if the defense was at all competitive against non-terrible offenses.
  18. Who is 79 and why is he on the field?
  19. I feel like Bostic knows what's going on, but doesn't trust it. He's guessed right on the Witten and Beasley catches that drive (and a Murray one earlier) but he didn't attack like he can.
  20. So much pressure on every punt this year.
  21. Bitch ass playcalling.
  22. Yeah, you're really screwed when a starter gets roughed up. But with the way you hope the future Cubs team is constructed, I wouldn't be worried too much about pinch hitting and defensive replacements. If everyone even close to pans out, they'll have several guys that won't come off the field. I figure 1-2-3- regular starters 4/5 and 6/7 for piggybacking. Then you can have 6 in the pen, and a short (4 man) bench with a very strong lineup. Hell, the Cubs had a 4-man bench a lot of last year, I believe.
  23. That's actually as probable as any long-shot scenario could possibly be. Arizona is probably favored this week, but if they lose they'll likely be underdogs the final 3 weeks. Dallas just got blown out by Philly and the Colts can score with anyone. Switch Dallas w/ Niners, Philly w/ Seattle, and Chargers w/ Colts and the same holds true for #4. yeah the most difficult part of that scenario is the whole 'Bears win their last 4 games' By far.
