  1. Depressing is when you look at Tannehill, Geno Smith, and Manuel.
  2. Tennessee was rumored to be after him if he became a FA. I think they might take him. Whisenhunt is there right? He's the type of veteran coach that would take on a guy like Cutler. He took on Warner and Palmer in Arizona when it looked like they were done (or was Palmer after he left?). He gets a lot of credit for turning Warner and Rivers around the 1 year he was in SD. The others I don't see taking him.
  3. Most concerning thing to me about this season is the promises Trestman made/had shown. He vowed there would be less pre-snap penalties, and this was a non-issue last year, but it's back with a vengence this year. He vowed to change Cutler's mechanics. He did some last year, but they have regressed this year. He vowed to protect the QB, and he did last year. But now they're terrible again. Injuries or not, Mills, Bushrod and Garza have regressed. He produced a big time offense last year, now they consistently look like they don't know what to do. He vowed to have this team on the same page, but there are still several plays a game where the OL doesn't know who to block, the WRs don't know where to line up or what route to run, and that doesn't even get into the defense and special teams communication issues in coverage and how many people are actually to be on the damn field.
  4. Fuller probably looks a lot worse because he's faced by far the best WR on every team. Nelson x 2, Calvin, Dez Bryant, Mike Evans, Kelvin Benjamin, Jimmy Graham, Julio Jones. Mostly in man coverage too. That's a coaching problem.
  5. Cutler hasn't set his feet on a single throw today. And 0 of them have actually gone where he intended them to go other than the 2 yard pass that Forte dropped, ironically enough. Forte has really bad body language right now. Never seen that from him. He's reached his breaking point. Jeffery not really putting forth 100% effort to the naked eye. If the Bears RT position hadn't been so bad this year, more Bears fans would notice that Bushrod has been really bad since coming back from his injury. And I thought he was great early in the year and in preseason. Paea is having a career year. Young is having a pro bowl type year as a pass rusher. Ratliff has been pretty good. Allen has been decent for about 6-8 weeks now. Yet the defense is terrible. Jon Bostic has no idea what is going on around him. I mean he knows when guy gets ball, you hit guy with ball. But he has no idea how to figure out where the guy is going to be getting the ball. Tim Jennings. Take the money and run?
  6. Of [expletive] course I put up 123 this week, and that's with Beckham putting up almost 42 of those. Luck = 9 points below projection. Calvin Johnson = 11 below. Jordy Nelson = 9 below. Got 12 total points from the combination of Lamar Miller, Isaiah Crowell, and Jordan Cameron. And it's not like I started the wrong people. I knew I'd be in trouble w/ Ellington going down and TE has been terrible for me all year since Pitta went down. That's what I get for picking a [expletive] Packer. Nelson dropped 2 TDs. One for about 84 yards, the other for 30. I win if I have those 2 plays. In my other league, I need a miracle. Need Forte to outscore Jimmy Graham by 19.
  7. I kinda just want him so Cleveland doesn't get him. But yeah, not much interest in actually seeing him play.
  8. You're going to have to sell me on Jack Del Rio. Seems like a very "Bears" head coaching hire. Though, they don't really hire re-tread coaches, Del Rio strikes me as very unspectacular. The comparison to John Fox doesn't help either as I think Fox is very mediocre and is winning now because of Peyton. I'd like to see a more dynamic, or at least potentially a more dynamic coach.
  9. I don't actually want Hamels. I would have been willing to listen if no Lester, but with Lester, I don't see the need to give up prospects for Hamels. At this point, I'm probably not trading any of the top prospects unless the Cubs are getting a big time stud ala Harper, Upton, or similar.
  10. Agreed, but there are too many teams that are only a serviceable QB away from the playoffs that the Bears would only be compounding their incompetence by not at least fielding offers for him. Emery (assuming he keeps his job) should be on the phone with StL, Buffalo, or Houston ASAP. And Tennessee, Washington. The problem with that is if not Cutler. ..... then who? Not picking high enough for Mariota or Winston. Absolutely nobody else in this draft class is worth a top 10 pick. And only Hundley is worth even a roster spot in this draft IMO. If u sign a QB (from a weak FA class as always), then you are paying Cutler 9.5 mil to go away (dead space from trade) AND another QB to play, which would probably end up eating up a lot of the money you save (12.5M) by cutting him if you want someone worthwhile (Bradford, Sanchez, Hoyer, Mallett). Not to mention, you are taking a step back in talent from Cutler to any of those FAs, any draft pick or any reasonable traded QB.
  11. Bell. Who knows what the Patriots will do. They may throw all day or Jonas Gray might get 39 carries again.
  12. Yes. He can play it. Hasn't been established if he can hit enough our not.
  13. Amazing. Had to hold back tears of joy.
  14. I think you have to start Gordon. I know he and Johnny football have no chemistry. No reps together due to suspension/depth chart, but when Manziel scrambles, the potential for a huge play is there. Which RB do you bench? Probably Ingram. Bears are decent against the run (Demarco Murray not withstanding).
  15. So Derrick Rose looked ok huh?
  16. Exactly. Trestman has to be done if all his coordinators are gone. Bigger issue to me is how do you let a GM, who hired an outside the box coach to hire another coach. Emery is NOT getting fired. But I'd almost rather see another disasterous season next year with Trestman than have him hire an Australian rules football coach who's well regarded as a toughness guru.
  17. Luc Longley was a terrific passer, if you want to talk about centers only. But all the PF could pass - Rodman was a fantastic passer. Also, it should be pointed out that Kobe averaged 5.5.-6 APG during most of the Lakers glory years. He was fine with passing the ball when he had anyone to pass it to. Ah, didn't think of Longley. Good call.
  18. Did the Bulls teams have any good big men passers? Not trying to argue, just really can't remember if guys like Perdue, Cartwright, Grant, etc. could pass. I think Wennington was decent. And I know Kukoc was 6'10", but wasn't really a "big".
  19. or that Jackson thought that he could run the triangle through a player who hates passing the ball Uh....didn't he run the triangle with Kobe? And win several championships doing so? The Lakers had Gasol, who was great at passing out of the triangle, while the Knicks don't have the prerequisite "big man who can pass" I know that. But you didn't say Jackson thought he could run the triangle with a team without a big man who can pass. You said he couldnt' run it thru a guy who hates passing aka Melo. You're changing the parameters.
  20. I know moving parts and all, but I don't see the need to give up top prospect(s) for a SS (no matter how good he is) that is the biggest injury risk of position players in baseball. Plus, isn't Tulo a better defensive SS than Castro, Baez and probably Russell? Seems like everyone else would move for him, though I do admit it could be an Arod/Jeter thing, where Tulo goes to 3B because of size more than anything else.
  21. OK. I'd take Johnson to fill in the role Olt played last year, but it would be to a lesser extent because the team is better.
  22. or that Jackson thought that he could run the triangle through a player who hates passing the ball Uh....didn't he run the triangle with Kobe? And win several championships doing so?
  23. This is the problem with a veteran team not winning. Regardless of what they say, every veteran in that lockerroom was either there last year when they were a 4th down stop away from the playoffs, or came to Chicago because they thought this team could be a serious contender. They read the media hype or saw it on TV. When things go wrong, there's going to be more frustration because of said expectations. Fingers are going to be pointed. I don't know if this team can take a spring off and come back together like nothing ever happened with the same group of players and coaching staff (for the most part).
  24. This must be how Patriots fans have felt the last 15 years.
  25. Apparently, DJ Williams has been put on IR and Jon Bostic is back at starting Mike LB.
