  1. No reason not to have a quick 1-2-3 inning there. Opposing pitcher again.
  2. I know. On the rare occassion Corey Patterson did something great, I called him by his birth name of Donald.
  3. I still don't regret the Cubs not trading Prior for Tejada. Because I have absolutely love what Cedeno has done so far. While Tejada has the name recognization, Cedeno gives the Cubs financial flexibility---if needed---to make a trade at the deadline, if needed. Besides, Tejada is slightly overrated, due to the East Coast bias. I like a healthy Prior and Cedeno over Tejada and Bedard. The plan was for Cedeno to play 2B, with Walker being traded. IT was never Cedeno or Tejada. It was Cedeno or Walker. And Tejada being overrated has nothing to do with being on the East Coast, as he won his MVP in Oakland.
  4. I hardly eat peanuts, hotdogs, or drink Pepsi (pop in general actually).....but something about being at a baseball game makes all 3 necessary and extremely enjoyable. I actually eat almonds and/or pistacchios quite often though.
  5. Hinske's a decent option, but I don't see him being much of a difference from Mabry, except with power. I think the Cubs need a RH bat in there.
  6. He sounds like a guy that would benefit from having Greg Maddux as a teammate.
  7. WU-TANG!
  8. I think the Bulls can take this one. This will be huge as the Bulls can take over home court with a win.
  9. Only 2 of the 20 guys on his comparables list (similar batters and similar batters thru age 35) are in the Hall (Stargell and Kiner). He's in the same class of guys like Larry Walker, Ellis Burks, Paul O'Neill. Pretty good, but not elite, thus not quite Hall worthy.
  10. Mistake #1 was eating at Denny's. I've never had a bad time when eating at Denny's was involved. You're not black are you? I thought he was referencing the quality of the meal as opposed to the racist behavior at some of their locations. I don't know much about Westwood, or if that Denny's location has had similar problems as the ones involved in earlier disutes. Fun facts Yeah, I know. Just messin around.

  12. I always miss the first pitcher listed on my bench. I guess my depth perception is off, so I always assume the first BN pitcher is actually listed at P. Missed Mitre's start yesterday.
  13. Dang! Lidge gets out of 1st and 2nd, 1 in, none out by getting Randa, Burnitz and Castillo. Houston wins 3-2.
  14. I don't see why they can't get Wilson because of Casey's health. Pittsburgh is already in the dumpster. Wilson is hardly the centerpiece of that franchise, and is probably gone come free agency anyway. Give 'em Sing to play 1B for now, and an arm, save them a few bucks. Agreed. This seems like a doable deal for a player that could help us a lot this year. Shouldn't have waited until Casey got hurt in the first place. You go out and sign a RF who can't hit lefties. You have a rookie in LF. You have 0 RH power on your roster. Wilson was a no-brainer type of move 3 months ago.
  15. Have Thanksgiving Dinner. ..ok, that was mean. I'm sorry. hahahaha That was great. Good job.
  16. And I still don't understand how statistical proof is silly. BK showed that Lee as great as he was last year was only 65 runs better than the average hitter. That's less than 1/2 a run per game the Cubs lose.
  17. LMAO
  18. I'd probably do it. Barrett is a top 5 catcher, Lugo is maybe a top 10 SS. I'd play Ramirez/Kinsler at SS and go get Barrett.
  19. That's because Bowa was just a slap swinger. Matthews didn't need anymore days in the sun. He's darker than Charlie Murphy.
  20. :zap: :banned:
  21. Seriously, are you just saying stuff to disagree now? 1. I never remotely said Murton was anywhere near the player that Berkman is. 2. How is it premature to say that Cedeno (who's hit well over .300 in his 150 career ABs so far) won't outproduce the worst SS in the NL? 3. Are you honestly arguing my STATS that Dempster was the better closer than Lidge last year with your PERCEPTION of fear? 4. When did I use career averages? I mentioned them with Pierre, but still showed with a down year he was better than Tavarez....which was the point. I did for Williamson because it's clear as day that he won't pitch like he did last year coming off of surgery. His career numbers are actually much higher because of the times he's pitched when needing or coming back from surgery. His healthy years have all been remarkably better than the numbers I used. 5. When did I disregard Aardsma? I explicitly said the Cubs top 5 in the pen are good enough to still be better than the Astros 05 pen even when you factor in Aardsma, Wuertz, and Novoa. 6. Maybe you haven't heard, but since Wood and Prior went down there have been at least hints and at most target dates for when both would be coming back. I don't know how I'm throwing "whoever I want in the mix". That doesn't even make sense.
  22. Yeah, Gload's not that good. Wuertz has shown he can be a very good reliever.
