  1. Seems like the perfect draft for Angelo to trade for the last pick of the draft again.
  2. I guess he is an OLB. But there are better on the board.
  3. How about a poll of: Brian Giles or Neifi Perez, Glendon Rusch, Jacque Jones?
  4. I'm showing him as an inside LB, at 6'2", 250. I'd rather the Bears pick another RB over an ILB.
  5. Abreu just recently had a 13-game walk streak snapped. He would make too much sense for the Cubs. His 2nd half slide of 2005 is history, he's putting up the best numbers of his career so far. Unfortunately, I think it would take giving up Matt Murton or Felix Pie and plenty of pitching. I wouldn't give up Pie for 1.5 years of a 33 year old, and I'd hate to give up cheap productive talent in Murton. But he would probably go because he would be relegated to the bench, as Jones isn't going anywhere. I'd say; Murton, Hill/Marshall, and a minor league pitcher (of the Holliman, Shaver, Johnson caliber)
  6. With Novoa, Ohman and Aardsma all likely unable to pitch until Tuesday at the earliest. I would call up Hill and Wuertz and send Aardsma and Novoa to the minors. Hill is there in case the Cubs need a long man in the next 2 days, and if not....then he can take Rusch's next start and Rusch should be able to be the long man out of the pen by Tuesday/Wednesday. I really like Novoa, but the Cubs aren't gonna get rid of Rusch, so at the very least, he'll have a spot in the pen. And I think Wuertz is better, though, not so far this year.
  7. Wow. I understand that the Bears have had good luck with sleepers and/or small school guys (Urlacher, Harris, Tillman), and bad luck with big-name/big school early draft picks (Enis, Salaam, Terrell) but come'on!
  8. What do the Panthers need another running back for? I know Davis is aging, but what about DeShaun Foster? He'll tear up his knee in minicamp.
  9. Very nice. Marcedes will still be there by the time the Bears pick. Two extra picks. I look to add Lewis or Pope early 2nd. Moss late 2nd. CB early 3rd (Jennings, Marshall, Griffin) and possibly a guy like Rob Sims in the 3rd. Angelo better hope that Lewis is still there. If it works out, he will get an extra pick out of it. If not, he lost out on Lewis just to be greedy. Lewis would have been an overdraft at 26. Good move by the Bears. 13 picks til the Bears draft and you still have guys at non-need positions for the Bears available. White, Jackson, Justice (though the last 2 would have been nice), Mangold, Kiwanuka, Rod Wright, Howard, Ryans, McNeil. I'd wager most of those guys are gone by 42, if not all of them. That was the point. I was thinking those guys would be gone, plus any need players that aren't at the top of board. Leaving either Lewis or Pope for the Bears pick.
  10. OOps. Well Pope may still be there.

  13. I think they are taking Jackson. Great move by Steelers if so. Rumors they wanted Lendale White at 32. Oops.
  14. Moss I believe. Jackson has better hands and is huge. (6'4" I believe?) Jackson is 6'1", and ran a 4.32 40. Moss ran a 4.38.
  15. I'd actually love for the Bears to pick Ryans. But any LB the Bears pickup isn't gonna be playing on passing downs with Urlacher and Briggs in there. So, they would be spending a 1st rounder on someone who is only gonna play 60-65% of the downs. I go with Holmes if he's there. Can still get a decent TE (rumors that Pope may slip), OLB, or DB in the 2nd.
  16. Anyone other than Lewis, Holmes, Jackson, or Jimmy Williams and I'll be upset. With the players on the board, Lewis will actually be an overdraft.
  17. No Jennings? Jennings? I did forget Jonathan Joseph though, who I really like.
  18. My best available. 1. Chad Jackson 2. Santonio Holmes 3. Jimmy Williams 4. DeMeco Ryans 5. Winston Justice 6. D'Angelo Williams 7. Mathias Kiawinuka (sp?)
  19. He was great as a rookie, then not so great his 2nd year. Then he got fat and was less great. Stopped throwing strikes. Then he got demoted to the bullpen, had a horrible outing. Got promoted back to starter, had a horrible outing. Got demoted to AAA. I was thinking as much as anyone that Williams should be garnering as much interest as mediocre pitchers were getting this offseason. The fact that nobody showed that interest and Jerome can't pitch well enough, long enough to regain that interest leads me to not expect much in return from trading him.
  20. I like this move, especially because the Bears seem to love rotating DTs all game. And Tank has issues. Injuries and personal.
  21. He better not. Not only do you risk the game, but you risk the kid's arm again....87 pitches is not a bunch, but these have all been high adrenaline, high intensity pitches.
  22. Good call. And great job going thru the middle of the order by Guzman.
  23. I'd like Guzman to be able to make it thru 5, but it's not happening with the middle of the order coming up. I don't want him facing Cabrera and Willingham again.
