  1. Hester has touched the ball for the last time this season. Squib kicks and punts out of bounds for the rest of the year. If I'm coaching against the Bears, Hester only gets to touch the ball on a trick special teams play.
  2. BTW, I'm praying that at least 1 person who votes for league MVP gives Hester a vote. I would take a lot of pride in him being mentioned by just 1 person. He has been an amazing difference this year. Not just the TDs, but I thought he was solid in coverage last night, and he has been a huge key to the field position with his returns, and simply by the fear of his returns.
  3. That's a great play call. Any OC that doesn't make that play call doesn't deserve his job.
  4. 7 different receivers hit by Rex tonight. This coming off a game where he only seemed to notice Berrian on his side.
  5. Does it matter? It will be warm at the SuperBowl.
  6. Moose may not have the stats from his Carolina heyday, but he has stepped his game up this year. Lots more great plays with his hands. Few drops. He has made a bunch of big 3rd down plays.
  7. Adrian Peterson sighting! How many touches is that for him this year, on non-short kickoffs.
  8. Hold. Time for a nice long, Bensonfull drive.
  9. Nevermind my last post. DAMN! So much for that 2.6 average.
  10. Good run by Jones, but he shouldn't be in there. And I'm probably his biggest (and least big Benson) fan on the board.
  11. I always thought they should let a guy climb the goalpost to try and block a kick. Either that or stand on the crossbar.
  12. 3 more games of icing kickers! I don't think Lovie likes timeouts.
  13. False start saved the Bears from a stupid call. No way do you go for it there with less than 2 minutes left in the half, and the other team getting the ball to start the 2nd half.
  14. That's been the blueprint for about 4 weeks now. Just hasnt' been followed. Oh yeah, and it's nice to finally get into the RAms backfield.
  15. After a 12-play 99 yard drive...the worst good thing that could have happened was a kickoff return for a TD.
  16. How about keeping Jacque Jones and playing him in CF? As much as I hated the signing, he's better than any of those options.
  17. Who's your 3rd? Sizemore? BTW, I'll make you an offer in a bit.
  18. Doubt Hendry gets involved, since he paid big for DeRosa. But I would play DeRosa in the same role he played in Texas. Platoon at whatever position the LH OF plays. Get time at SS, 2B, 3B and all over the OF. Giles isn't a guarantee to be better, but if you don't have to give up anything for him, it's a no brainer to try.
  19. sorry, but building a 90+ loss team with a $95 mil payroll means you're not a good gm, bad luck or not. and neifi perez is not a great guy to have on a team. unless your team is a junior college team. Well, I'll be more than happy to argue. I guarantee that if Prior, Wood, and DLee were healthy last season, this team would have been in contention and probably would have won at least 80-85 games. Hendry had little to do with that. He also had little to do with Juan Pierre & Jacque Jones swinging rubber bats during the first half. In addition, if used properly, Neifi Perez could have been a huge help to this team in late inning close games with his glove. As a starter, we all knew what to expect. How can you not fault a GM when the only 2 players he brought in new to the team sucked in the first half?
  20. This would be a great deal for Toronto. They won't be able to afford Wells after this year, and Kemp might end up being as good as Wells in the future. Be an excellent deal for the Jays. Halladay, Penny, Burnett, would be the start the best rotation in baseball. And Kemp could be a star.
  21. What do you think it would take? I dunno. If they really are disillusioned with him and think of Young as their #1, maybe we don't need to sell the farm. I'd pull no punches trying to get him though. You want Hill? Sure. Pie? Veal? Murton? None of those guys are off limits. Jacque Jones should interest them too. I'm sure they want something in the way of big league talent coming back. I wonder if they would be interested Jones, Veal, and Patterson? Get an OF which they need. Get a stud LHP. Get a future 2B to replace Barfield.
  22. Gotta get a pitcher that at least has a chance to be a top of the rotation arm. It's still Zambrano with Hill as an unproven and 2 #4-5's at best in Lilly and Miller. I think Hudson has a shot to be a solid #2 again, like he has been in the past. Jennings was a legit #2 (can argue ace) last year with a 127 ERA+. Westbrook has a shot to be a #2 like starter. Zito, I flat out don't like, but he could be in this group, although he will be paid like the best in the NL.
  23. I think Z will look at what Oswalt signed for and look to get money around that territory, and a little more. I'm thinking 5-years, 17M per.
  24. Next year's FA class has to be itching to get the 2007 season over with, since they are actually good.
