  1. There's no reason for a guy to ever get turned down on a marriage proposal. If a woman says, "no". The guy obviously didn't gauge her feelings right. If that is the case, then he doesn't know her as well as he should and shouldn't have proposed to her in the first place because of that fact. Besides, everyone I know that is married (myself included), did it the old fashioned way. Lived with the woman for a while and she basically starts hinting at marriage, while the guy misses all the hints. After that, it becomes flat out forcing the guy to marry her by giving him the old, "I'm not gonna live in sin forever" speech, and subsequent ultimatum that a guy can't turn down because he knows nobody else will put up with his sorry ###. So, the moral of the story is....never ask a girl to marry you unless she tells you to.

    week 21

Start Gallardo last 2 weeks. -50 and -15 point games. This week, I bench him, he puts up 25 points, Shawn Marcum takes his place, scores (-15). I'm down 20+ and down a start. I need a big offensive week and my aces have to come thru again (Hamels, Santana).
  3. It's merely a technicality. He can stay on the list as little or as long as he wants. The only catch is that he doesn't get paid while he's on the restricted list. Sucks for Cliff. The team is better for it though. He should in no way be starting.
  4. Completely forgot about the draft. Sorry. My team looks better than last year, though, FWIW.
  5. Looks like somebody noticed Carlos Zambrano's contract signing. I bet he wishes he could have the 6th inning back. If he's at 18 or 19 after 8, he goes back out there in the 9th, regardless of pitch count.
  6. Johan Santana breaks the Twins K record on route to a 2-hit shuout, and a 47 point outing for the Raw Dawgs overcoming big days from Smoltz and Teixeira.
  7. I'll take Chris Chambers
  8. Again, those are the same guys that couldn't win the last 2 years (3rd place in 06, last this year). As for their big 3 being over a .900 OPS next year, sure it's possible, but I wouldn't say "very conceivable". None of them are at .900 this year. Dye has only been that high twice in his career, and will be 34 next year. Thome is at .899 this year, but will be 37 next week, and at this point in his career is a health risk. Konerko has also been barely over .900 twice in his career, and will be 32 next year. Not to mention, they play in the same division as the Twins, Tigers, and Indians. I think 3 of Sheff, Maggs, Granderson, Guillen (all at .880 OPS or higher), and Sizemore, Hafner, VMart, and even Mauer, Morneau, Cuddyer are more likely to be better offensively than the Sox big 3. All have the young pitching to be potentially miles better than the Sox.
  9. I don't think this is a bad deal for Dye. I think he's worth the $11M per on a short-term deal. And I think he will bounce back and have a decent year next year. However, I do think this is a bad deal for the Sox. I understand the team that won the series is still together for the most part, but they are also the same team that has been one of the worst teams in baseball since the 2006 AS break. The team obviously isn't good enough as constructed. Why bring back that same team?
  10. Raw Dawgs Revisited. QB- Donovan McNabb RB- Willie Parker RB- Frank Gore WR- Marvin Harrison WR- Chris Chambers RB/WR- Reggie Bush TE- Jason Witten K DEF- Jacksonville BN- Ahman Green, Santana Moss, Kevin Curtis
  11. Carson Palmer and TJ Houshmazode for Willie Parker and the 30th pick in the draft (used for Donovan McNabb).
  12. There has been a trade: TT has traded the current pick to the Raw Dawgs, along with Willie Parker for Carson Palmer and TJ Houshmazilli. With this pick, Raw Dawgs select Donovan McNabb of the Philadelphia Eagles. TT is now on the clock to start the 4th round of picks.
  13. I'm happy with the deal, despite the strong chance that Zambrano is injured for at least 1 of those 5 years and probably not worthy of the money in at least the last year of that deal. The Cubs really have nothing in the minors like they did when Z came up. There's no Prior, Wood, Cruz, or the potential of the great draft picks (Sisco, Jones, Petrick, etc) anymore. Unless they traded him before July 31, for good younger pitching, they had no choice but to sign him to whatever he wanted. I'm happy it's just 5 years.
  14. I have a problem with the time. That's way too late.
  15. Raw Dizzawgs (roster subject to change, in the very near future) QB- Palmer RB- Gore RB- Bush WR- Harrison WR- Houshmanzadeh RB/WR- A Green TE- K- Def-
  16. It should be if those 7 hits are 2 HRs, 3 doubles and 2 singles.
  17. The reason given for the reason he's been on the team this long has been that the pitchers love throwing to him. Whether or not you believe CERA is a legit stat, the pitchers have performed better with him, and he is miles better defensively than any other catcher the Cubs have played this year, outside of Blanco. At this point, August 16th, there's no point in sending him down just to bring him back up in 2 weeks. Kendall's hitting, he's gonna catch everyday unless it's a day game after a night game. Might as well have Hill catching once a week in the majors, and have Soto getting his ABs in Iowa. Of course, that's not to say he should have been up this whole time.
  18. I'll take Ahman Green.
  19. I don't understand the VY hate. I guess it's not really "hate", but if you're in a league where a rushing TD (6) is worth more than a passing TD (4), then Vince is definitely a top 6-7 QB. Also have to remember that he was a rookie last year. No reason his numbers shouldn't go up at least a little. That being said, I wouldn't draft him before the 5th round, in any league. In a league where QBs get 4 pts for a passing TD, I wouldn't pick a QB before the 3rd round, and that's just Manning.
  20. Thanks! Now I'm tied for best overall record. :) I also got passed for the most points in the league, thanks to Tim outscoring me by 200 points. A -50 point start will do that.
  21. It's on!
  22. Wow. Not a good week. At least Abuck lost too, so I maintain my 1 game lead in the East.
  23. TJ Houzyourmama! Championship!
  24. HA. What a week between Buddiga and I. Of course, I have Gallardo's complete bomb. But he has put up 4 starts with negative scores. I actually lead despite one of the worst games in league history.
