  1. Haven't you been paying attention? It's now about a blockbuster Santana-Lincecum-Cain-Bedard-Roberts-Griffey-Crawford-ARod for Patterson-Murton-Cedeno-Gallagher-Marshall-Lieber-Colvin trade Man, I'm glad we're going to get this done without giving up Pie and Hill..... Hendry truly is amazing. Yeah, but is Griffey that much of an upgrade over Pie?
  2. Heh. At that point, I liked Guzman much more than anyone else on that list. I liked Mitre more also. I thought Trelle had the 2nd most talent, but was least likely to reach it.
  3. I don't know if I'd do Gallagher and Colvin. I like Colvin a lot. And I think the Cubs do, which is the reason they may trade Pie for pitching. I like Felix more than Colvin, but so does the rest of the league. Pie is also closer to the majors, therefore has more value. I'd trade Felix for a legitimate (key word) upgrade on this team, and go after a stopgap CF for 2008, in hopes that Colvin can contribute in 2009.
  4. Looks like Sampson finally figured out his team. With everyone healthy, he's done more of what I've been calling for all year. DJ and Dre on the court together. Ellis as the primary ball handler. He turns the ball over still, but mostly gets it where it needs to go. It's amazing that the team's offensive stars are also its best defenders. Gordon was excellent on Freeman. Blocked 3 of his shots, forced him into 6 TOs, and held him to 2-9 shooting after getting screened to death for 8 points in the first few minutes. DJ's help on the pick and roll is textbook. He's improved in that area since the season started. Dre and Stemler have also improved in that area, as teams were screen and rolling IU to death early in the season.
  5. I was kidding about Gordon. He has to be there. 2nd in the major conferences in scoring behind Beasley. Beasley Hansbrough Gordon Augustin (my POTY right now) Are all givens. For the last spot, gotta consider DJ White, Wayne Ellington, Ty Lawson (better case than Rose, IMO), Sean Singletary, and Shan Foster
  6. I wouldn't put Gordon on there.
  7. Yay, UK. Ugh, that's gross. Last time I'll ever say that. It's always good when a team IU beats, beats a top team in the country. Big win for UKs resume. If they turn it around that will help IUs RPI/SOS.
  8. Wow. What an incredibily biased and misleading stat. That's the only thing you could find that differentiates Eli from Grossman, huh? That's a lot better determining factor than the career completion %, TD/INT ratio, and QB ratings that are very similar. Manning has had 2 INTs in a game 20 times in 60 starts. Grossman has had 2 INTs in a game 10 times in 34 starts.
  9. Or if they are gonna be the pre-September Cubs of last year...... Chicago Cubs Baseball: Taking the MLB by storm, one base at a time.
  10. FYI, I originated the 3-way deal with the Cubs, Pirates, and Padres. :D
  11. Yeah, I'll take a 2nd team, if needed.
  12. Eli's QB rating for Sunday vs. GB was 72. Grossman was 73.2 vs. NO last year and 76.9 vs. Seattle. Eli's 2007 is pretty much exactly the same as Grossman's 2006. Same QB rating. Same 23 TD/20 INT season. Eli's completion % was better. Grossman's YPC was better.
  13. Hanley Ramirez disagrees So does Jimmy Rollins. Edgar Renteria, Derek Jeter, and Troy Tulowitzki tried to disagree, but I put them in their places.

  15. Stop piling on Wrigley23. He has an opinion and you disagree with it. No need to be disrespectful about it.
  16. Tom Brady was spotted wearing a walking cast on his right foot. If he can't go, Matt Cassell will start for the first time since highschool in the Superbowl trying to preserve the greatest season in the history of professional sports. But yeah, Brady will play.
  17. So does Lou Piniella, Larry Rothschild, and Jim Hendry. Unfortunately Well thats just plain wrong. Leaders in appearances Howry 78 Wuertz 73 Dempster 66 Leaders in RP IP Howry 81.1 Wuertz 72.1 Marmol 69.1 But hey, why pass up an opportunity to bash management. Hey, why not ignore the fact that Wuertz went from being the team's best reliever from 2005-2006, yet was demoted from setup duty to middle relief. He was the 5th RH option out of the pen when Wood joined the bullpen. And let's also ignore that the only reason he had more relief innings than Marmol, was because Carlos didn't start the year in the majors.
  18. Seems to be more and more teams playing hardball. Every rumor has involved seemingly every top prospect imaginable. Seems as if teams are more willing to get the draft compensation than to "settle" for a package just to get rid of a player.
  19. So does Lou Piniella, Larry Rothschild, and Jim Hendry.
  20. I read that as, "the Orioles have 2 players available worth trading for. Hendry is not interested in the one that would be the most significant upgrade for the Cubs."
  21. The bright orange jacket is excellent.
  22. Why is Duke and UNC ahead of Tennessee? UT is #1 in the RPI and have the #2 SOS.
  23. I think I probably do too. But I haven't decided what would be cooler to see. A team go completely undefeated, or a team go 18-0, only to lose the Superbowl. It would be nice if Belichick lost with 2 weeks preparation, because apparantly, that's not possible. But yeah, NE will win this game. Probably handily.
  24. they only beat psu by 15 and were actually trailing by a point about midway through the second half. plus penn state's best player blew out his knee in the last game. i'm not really seeing how it was an impressive win for iu. Did you watch the game? Penn St. gave IU their best game, probably of the season. Again, they were 8-12 from 3, and over 50% from the floor with 11 minutes left in the game. Pretty much every shot after open 3's to start the game was strongly contested. Their zone defense, kept IU off the boards (a top 15 reb. team) and they had a rebounding advantage until late in the game. Penn St. really played a great game. Even if we would have lost that game, I wouldn't have had much to complain about. The defense was solid throughout. Didn't turn the ball over. Had a good amount of assists per basket. Didn't commit stupid fouls. If IU plays every minute the rest of the season like they did the first 30 vs. Penn St., they will win most of their games and be a Sweet 16 team. If they play every minute like the last 10, they're gonna be tough for anyone to beat. We took a solid game, with a good effort, and turned the last 10 minutes to nearly flawless basketball.
