  1. Yes! This was awesomeness! Maybe the dumbest coaching strategy ever, as the team lost by 30.
  2. Exactly. Lebron is a pipe dream. Let's "settle" for Bosh/Amare or hometown kid Wade. a rose-wade combo should be good enough to finish behind lebron's knicks for 3 or 4 years I'd love for Wade to come home to Chicago. However, if LeBron has a choice, I think DWade would be his preferred teammate.
  3. 1. Knicks have enough money freed up in 2010 to sign LeBron and anyone else they want (Bosh, Amare, Wade). They'll probably sign LeBron and then sign whoever else he tells them to sign. 2. Does LeBron want to play in Chicago, under the shadow of Michael Jordan? It may not be a big deal, but he couldn't wear 23 in Chicago. No matter what he does in Chi, he'd be known as the 2nd best Bulls player of all-time, and Scottie Pippen may be argued ahead of him w/ 6 rings. There's really no reason for LeBron to play his home games anywhere in 2010 other than MSG or Brooklyn.
  4. Detroit's not fun to watch without Barry Sanders. Never have been, never will be.
  5. Yeah, Pirates fans typically love Jack. Though I think now that it's more of the fact that they don't have anything resembling a good replacement for him (Bixler stinks). But I don't think he's been the face of the franchise for the last 2 years. Bay was before he got traded. McClouth is now.
  6. Yes. Vikes special teams still suck. Gus Ferrotte still blows. Those are clearly the ways the Bears will win the game, if they win. They gotta keep Peterson in check. He has dominated the Bears so far in his 3 games. Gotta keep him under 100-110 ish. Gotta get turnovers and make big plays in the return/block game like last time.
  7. I'm not assuming that is a loss. I actually have fairly high expectations for a win there. It's not about Bear weather, but it is based largely on a dome team without a great history of playing outdoors, including against the Bears the past 2 years. The short week is the bigger story for that week, however. Yep, and it's a short week where the Bears don't have to travel at all.
  8. I don't know why everyone is assuming a loss at home vs. NO. The Saints have won 1 road game this year, and that was against 1-10 KC. They've never had success in cold weather including last year vs. a dismal Bears team. Granted, they did move the ball pretty well, but they couldn't stop a lackluster Bears offense.
  9. Hmmm. I don't agree. Tiebreakers always seem to come into play at the end, especially in tight divisional/WC races. And we're in a tight divisional race. If the Bears lose out on most of their tiebreakers with a loss on Sunday, for me that makes this win paramount. Exactly...win and you don't have to worry about it. I just don't see the Bears winning the division with a loss Sunday @ Minny. That Saints home game scares me big time. I think the Bears could win out even if they lose this game. They will probably be favored in every game, though I'd imagine it'd be pretty close at home vs. NO and GB.
  10. Hopefully they mean Fontenot OR Marshall. Hopefully, that's still too much for Hendry to give up, as it should be.
  11. A long Forte run has been coming all game. Glad he got it before the half.
  12. ND is probably the best matchup in the top 15 for IU. ND does have a huge front court advantage with about 60 points from 4 guys over 6'7". IU has 3 players even over 6'7", and two are walk-ons. One is maybe the worst player I've ever seen. Harangody/Pritchard matchup will be fun, as Harangody is probably what Pritchard has to strive for in his college career. McAlarney hasn't been shooting well and IU can maybe get away w/ some zone and helping out on Harangody. IU has had trouble protecting the ball, when not in the hands of their primary ball handlers. ND only forced 11 TOs vs. Loyola. IU also has a couple guys who can knock down the 3, ND allowed 8-18 from 3 to Loyola (12-42 from 2pt range). But the difference in this game will be IUs lack of post defense and defensive rebounding. IU allowed 27 offensive boards in the opener, but did improve vs. IUPUI. They have also allowed over 40% of the opponents points to be scored in the paint and will be facing a dominant front court. These last points will likely be the difference. I don't expect a win, but hopefully, both teams will play defensively like they did their last time out. I would be very satisfied if IU keeps the game w/i single digits most of the way.
  13. Uh yeah. That was a pretty bad game. The defense has been Denver Nuggetty the last few games. The layup drill vs. the Lakers then the sleepwalking vs. the Blazers. Doesn't look like Vinny has coached defense at all this year. I'm not a fan of his offense either when Ben Gordon or Larry Hughes or Kirk Hinrich are running the offense and Derrick Rose is on the court with them.
  14. That could be pretty interesting. Damon could interest the Cubs because he is a leadoff hitter. Cubs get Peavy and Damon (Yanks eat 5.5Mil) Yankees get Lilly, Gerut, Wuertz, Cubs prospect Padres get Kennedy, Pie, Hill, Cedeno I wonder if the Yanks would take Fukudome. As a Soriano, Damon, Fukudome OF wouldn't be too great to me.
  15. Gotta have a lefty to break all those righties up dude.
  16. I hate Valverde a lot. Enough to not want him on my team, no matter how good he is.
  17. So, was Sunday just a bad week or the beginning of the end. Thing that sucks is that we still may not know this week after facing a horrible Rams team. I didn't see this team winning in Minnesota, when they were playing well. The last 3 weeks (don't forget about he crappy Lions game and 41 points to the Vikes before that) makes me worry about being able to win more than the Rams and Texans games.
  18. Is Derrick Rose an All Star? 19.5 points, 6 assists, 5 boards per game. 48% from the field. Been the best PG in the east except for possibly, Devin Harris. Rose has averaged 21.4, 7.6 Ast, and 6.2 Reb in his last 5 games, so he's only getting better. Bulls better not blow this. They can build a team around another star player. Not saying he's Jordan good, but the Bulls can win a championship w/ Derrick Rose.
  19. The Big Ten hasn't had any bad losses as of yet, at least. Probably safe until tomorrow, as it looks like Wisconsin is going to squeak by tonight. Nobody has lost in the conference at all.
  20. Yeah, but Portland is extremely high on Fernandez and doubtful he would be available. Yeah, I know. I don't know why they would trade Fernandez, but have to trade something to get something. I'd be willing to throw in Deng after 12/15 and take back Pryzbilla and Diogu (other big contracts of non-core players) if needed.
  21. IU with a hard fought win over IUPUI. Yeah, I know shut up. But it was a good win for the young group of Hoosiers, went down to the wire. 19-2 run to end the 1st half, was probably the best 7 minutes of basketball this team is capable of. Granted the competition was weak and the rest of the game they were beaten 55-41.
  22. Gotta start Cassell and Ryan. Favre plays the Titans. Not a good matchup w/ ballhawking DBs and a QB who likes to throw to opponents.
