  1. Damnit. FGs under 25 yards are a waste of an opportunity. And the Bears have still not scored a TD on a drive of 80 yards or more.
  2. Gotta get 7. 11 point lead in this weather would be huge.
  3. His game is almost a clone of Anderson's. He's a lot bigger though and may be a better receiver.
  4. So, I'm guessing the strategy will be to force the Jags to throw the ball.
  5. Howry's a good signing. Flyball pitcher in that park will do fine. Especially when I am of the belief that Bob will be better this year.
  6. Those are all pretty good matchups. I think Turner and Andre Johnson have done enough to be locks. The only one I would say definitely NOT start is Hillis, and that's more based on the talent you have. He's by far the least talented of your RBs, regardless of the matchup, you don't want to lose because you put in a guy who was on waivers 2 weeks ago over a top 3 round RB. I'd probably go: Rodgers Turner Slaton A Johnson White Though that 2nd WR decision is a coin flip.
  7. Sleepers: Alex Gordon, Yovani Gallardo, Brandon Morrow, Chris Carpenter Huge Sleepers: Ryan Garko, Elijah Dukes Comebacks: Alex Rios, Troy Tulowitzki, Victor Martinez, Justin Verlander, Bust potential: Evan Longoria, Carlos Delgado, Milton Bradley, Josh Hamilton Avoid: Jason Bay, Corey Hart, John Danks, Garrett Atkins
  8. Wow. Flowers is a beast! I know the Sox love him, and the most recent rumor I'd heard was him going to the Sox with Jermaine Dye going back to the Braves.
  9. The Williams' just got suspended for the rest of the regular season. Been nice if they'd missed Sunday night, but of course that didn't happen. The Saints DEs and Deuce also got suspended, which will help the Bears next Thursday.
  10. If they win out, they'd be 10-6, which would make the playoffs in almost every single year. I'm not expecting them to win out anyway, but still they should be able to if they are even an average team, because 2 of the 4 teams are below average and the other 2 are not as good. Also, I think if the Bears get in, they could beat Atlanta, Tampa or Carolina since they would have to come into Chicago. Could have won all 3 in the regular season. Throw in the weather and what would presumably be a hot Bears team, one win is a possibility in the playoffs, which would make it NOT a waste.
  11. Bears should be favored in every game from here on out. They don't necessarily need to win out, but there's really no reason they can't. A legit playoff team would win out w/ 3 at home against teams w/ non-winning records and a road game against an inferior team.
  12. Don't start Portis. Ravens D + Portis less than 100% = minimal points. I'd probably wouldn't start both NO WRs. Colston is the best talent, but Moore has been the most productive. Kinda a coin flip.
  13. He should make it first ballot every time. He might not in a good year because he wasn't well liked. He will this year, because he's the best on the smallest list in HOF history. Mark Grace is eligible this year too for the first time!
  14. I'd go on 4th down inside the one every single time if I have a good defense. Granted, Peanut screwed up badly, but you put a defensive team like the Bears against a team w/ their backs against the endzone, the Bears should either come out of there with either a safety and a short field OR a punt and a short field. In previous years, that punt also meant a potential return TD. Good defensive/ST teams should be able to get their offense right back in position to score again if they fail on 3rd down. Also, nothing was wrong w/ running the ball. The FB dive was stupid. And the 4th down call was stupid because it was a slow developing play. If Forte hits that hole hard and straight ahead, it's a score. JSC was pretty bad. Orton was pretty bad. Rashied was bad. I know I complained about it early in the game, but I can't believe that they did not leave a HB or a TE to chip Allen. Shouldn't be necessary. Should be running a quicker hitter on the goaline anyway.

  16. Graham did well, the Bears will have an interesting decision at DB with the contract of Vasher, I don't know what the cap hit would be, if there would be one. I don't like either safety, Brown is the team leader and go against the run but neither him or Payne can cover anyone. Manning is a bust except when he is returning kicks. I agree with Hillenmeyer and Davis serving no purpose on this team, although I think Hillenmeyer is better than Roach, neither are starting OLBs. Brown and Payne are too similar to both be on the field together. I kinda like both, but don't love either. Same strengths, same weaknesses. Need a ballhawk who will know his assignments in the pass game and make plays when the ball is in the air. Young Mike Brown was decent at this, while still providing run support. I thought Roach played his best game of the year last night, but was still below average. I've been calling Hillenmeyer's demise for 2 years now.
  17. That sounds great, unless Peavy won't go there. That's true. Forgot about that aspect. I don't know what else the Angels would want in return though for giving up prospects for the Cubs to get Peavy. Cubs get: Peavy, maybe Willets (leadoff option, CF) Padres get: Marshall, Pie and ? maybe Adenhart and Napoli or a MIF (Rodriguez, Wood, Izturis) assuming Aybar and Kendrick are the MIFs to stay. Adenhart's a good prospect, but he can be expendable if they get CC along w/ Lackey, Saunders, Weaver, Santana. Angels get: DLee and ? The Angels could use bullpen help w/ K-Rod leaving. Cubs aren't trading Marmol or Samardzija. Ceda is gone. Do they trade Gregg right after trading for him? What about Cotts? Angels could use a LHR. I guess Vitters would work as their future 3B, if Brandon Wood doesn't figure it out.
  18. The Angels only make sense if they sign Sabathia first. If they have the prospects the Padres want for Peavy, why wouldn't they just get Peavy and re-sign Teixeira. I'd imagine if the Cubs traded DLee, they would look at Ibanez for 1B and Bradley for RF, unless they were able to get a cheap guy like Hermida which would be unlikely with the few remaining prospects.
  19. Yeah, he's done for the regular season at least. Broken arm. No point in bringing him back for the playoffs if necessary. Get someone else in the roster spot, IR him.
  20. Someone tell me what's going on? Gamecast sucks. Rose had 8 assists before halftime on CBS sportsline, then I go back and he has 4. Noah went from 6 boards at the half to 4. I just switched from CBS to NBA.com and Larry Hughes went from 17 points to 8. What the hell?
  21. Because I think he's going to New York with LeBron. Bosh is a way, way better two-way player though, you're right. In fairness to reality, I have a hard time seeing Phoenix letting Amare go anyway. I think Amare will be dying to leave in a couple of years. Why? Shaq, Nash, Hill will all be a year older next year. They won't win a first round series this year. Won't make the playoffs next year. He'll be dying to leave.
  22. I think the problem is nobody knows what to think of the Bears. And even though they are just 6-5, they aren't really inconsistent overall. The run D has been good. The pass D has been exploited. The offense is run first and often. When that hasn't worked, they have shown they can throw the ball enough to win that way. They've had a legitimate chance to win every game. The Green Bay game is the only exception to all of these, other than the TENN game where Grossman was throwing the ball. The problem is that the Bears bad game is fresh in people's minds. Maybe the safe guess is the Bears will win because the team they are playing isn't in the South.
  23. I'm still highly skeptical that this ever happens. Me too, which would eliminate 1/2 the teams with a chance at LBJ
