  1. I'm only going to have 6 starts all week, and one of those went 3 innings because of injury. If I win this, I'll have earned it. Your bats are outstanding. Mine have sucked! That's the difference thus far. If only I'd have thrown my other 3 pitchers on tuesday and picked up an additional 70-75 pts. Oh well! I can't believe you didn't start them.

  3. It doesn't happen to them more often than it does to other teams' good hitters.
  4. Exactly. Nothing you can do about the umps.
  5. seriously, it's a rule 5 pick against the heart of a decent team's lineup in a tie game in the late innings.
  6. Why is David Patton pitching in the 7th inning of a tie game with Albert Pujols due up?
  7. win a world series and the whole team will get their jerseys retired.
  8. Nice 23 point night from Kinsler. Outscored the rest of my team by 3 points for the day. Dare I say that he is the best non-Pujols RH hitter in the league?
  9. Best case scenario for the Bears to get one of the top 6 WRs is the Giants getting Braylon. Boldin to Miami. Holt signing with Jacksonville. Ocho Cinco to the Eagles. The only other teams with a huge need at WR would be Cleveland, Seattle, Cincinnati, and the Rams (sure I'm missing a couple). All are at the top of the draft and I don't think any will go w/ a WR in the first. So, the potential for a lot of guys to slip to the 2nd would be there.
  10. The Lakers may sweep the Jazz. No way Utah wins that. The other 3 series could all be won by the lower seed. Lakers over Jazz in 5 Hornets over Nuggets in 7 Mavs over Spurs in 7 Blazers over Rockets in 6 (it would be wrong if Houston won w/o T-Mac) Cavs in 5 Celtics in 5 Magic in 5 Heat in 7 Lakers over Blazers in 6 Hornets over Mavs in 6 Cavs over Heat in 6 Celtics over Magic in 7 Lakers over Hornets in 6 Cavs over Celtics in 7 Cavs over Lakers in 6
  11. YES!!!! Gibson ties it up! Going to OT!
  12. Wow, Philly trying to help the Bulls out. Is it worse to get beat by a bad team or worse to get beat by a good team without its 3 best players? I think the Cavs without Lebron, Williams, and Ilgauskas would be the worst team in the league, so I'm going with the former.
  13. This is the worst game a pitcher has ever dominated. This is worse the Clement throwing a no-hitter, but getting pulled after like 120 pitches in the 4th.
  14. I'm guessing they are favored on the road vs. GB in Week 1. Green Bay wasn't very good last year. They are changing defenses this year. The Bears have had success in Lambeau under Lovie. The Cutler hype should also help the Bears be 3 or so point road favorites. The Seattle and SF games couldn't be worse situations. Teams that appear very beatable on paper in the toughest possible situations. Fly to Seattle after getting up for the team's biggest rival in the season opener and the home opener vs. the reigning Champs. There's no reason a team should have to travel to SF on the Thursday after playing a Sunday game 3000 miles away. I could see the Bears struggling to get to .500 going into November, but the key will be the 4 game stretch in Oct-Nov 1. A playoff hopeful can't lose to the Lions. They should also be able to beat Cleveland at home and rebuilding Cincy on the road. The "toughest" game in the stretch is going to Atlanta again, but it's after the bye week.
  15. Being too hard on Josh Freeman. He's a good talent. I will admit though, that he reminds me of Akili Smith when he came out. I will also admit that I think Akili could have succeeded in another system.
  16. I see us winning at home versus AZ, but losing @SF on three days rest while flying to the bloody west coast. It's a night game, which should help get the adrenaline flowing. And SF is abysmal, which will help even more. Singletary will have those boys ready to go vs. his old team. SF will have a tough game before hand vs. the Titans, but are at home for both games.
  17. That's 10-6 I could see us winning most of the games though except @ Minnesota and @ Baltimore. Sucks that we couldn't have gotten Minnesota in the first 4 games of the season so we might play them without the Williams Wall. (are those suspensions still an issue?) It's hard to look at the schedule and determine what the team's record will be. Everybody thought Atlanta would be a W last year, and look at what happened. I do like having the Steelers early. But as I mentioned teams have been bad the last 3 years AFTER playing them. I like having Seattle after them, a team that should be weak. But that's a HUGE trap game after opening on a high at rival Green Bay and the first home game vs. the Superbowl Champions. Plus, it's travelling the other half of the country in a place that has historically been a tough place to play. Again, they have a tough travel from Chicago vs. the NFC Champs out to SF with a quick turnaround. That ARZ, SF, PHI, MIN stretch is going to be tough.
  18. I should get at least 7 games locally. The 5 national games, the Steelers game and the Browns game. I'd guess if both teams are good, I could get Vikings and Packers games.
  19. Good pick and a steal at this point.
  20. It all depends on how the Bulls attack Orlando. If we force Orlando to go to an up-tempo game, I think we'll win the series. I have a lack of confidence in Del Negro being able to outcoach SVG in a seven game series. With the way the Bulls are currently playing, I don't see this being a 7 game series. I have ??? about the Magic depth outside of their starting lineup. Outside of Howard they don't have much of a defensive prowess, and offensively it's either dump it in to Howard (and sometimes the Magic forget to include Howard in their offense) or basically settle for the 3 pointer. In other words, I would be disappointed if the Bulls don't win the series. You're setting yourself up for disappointment then. The Magic are a good team. Better than the Bulls. And they have the homecourt advantage. It would be an upset if the Bulls won on a lot of levels.
  21. I'm excited. Bears are said to have the easiest schedule next year based on opponents, but a lot of that is 2 vs. the 0-16 Lions. Getting Arizona or Minnesota in Chicago in December would make things that much more favorable for the Bears. Same goes for playing Pitt and Baltimore early in the year on the road. Another thing to consider is over the last few years teams have sucked after playing the Steelers. So, I'm hoping the Lions or the bye week (same thing right?) immediately follow that game. Pitt is in Chicago. Yeah, i knew that because I would be going if it was here. Okay, well that sentence confused me. I don't know what time of year is best for the Bears to face Pittsburgh, but for selfish reasons I'm hoping for early. No, you interpreted it right. I said it wrong.
