  1. While we are on the subject of the brilliant A's coaching staff, can someone explain to me why Orlando Cabrera is hitting 2nd and Jason Giambi bats 3rd for this team? Matt Holliday won't crack 80 RBI this year with those clowns in front of him. He'll get over 100 RBIs this year.......for the Royals after the midseason trade.
  2. It would help if Lou would use some guys consistently, bring them in before there are 2 men on base, and not use Patton in a close game vs. the #1 offense in the NL. I think the pen is fine, other than Cotts. Everyone else is fine in the role that they are in, Lou just needs to keep them in those roles and not overthrow his back 3 as much as he has (will).
  3. I voted for the Angels, but it was a toss-up between them and the Nats. I don't even know what those slogans mean.
  4. Never thought of him as a 6'3" Lebron. Decent comparison, but Lebron is much stronger. Lebron is built like a LB. Relative to PG's though, Rose is strong as a beast. I've thought it was a good comparison too. I like it better than most comparisons I've heard. Rose is strong compared to a lot of PGs, but Lebron is seriously the most physically put together NBA player since Ben Wallace and Dennis Rodman were in their primes. Even if you give Rose the 6 inches Lebron has on him, Lebron would still be the stronger, far more physical specimen.
  5. Never thought of him as a 6'3" Lebron. Decent comparison, but Lebron is much stronger. Lebron is built like a LB. I think it's a terrible comparison. Hilariously terrible. They're both physically gifted basketball players for their position, but their positions/game are way too different to make comparisons. He's stronger, better passing Steve Francis or more athletic, bigger Isiah Thomas. Steve Francis was horrible at basketball though. And Isiah didn't have the vision that Rose has. Maybe a mix of both. Francis' size and athletic ability. Isiah's quickness and finishing ability. But he has much better vision than Zeke. I like the Lebron comparison because both are strong, explosive going to the hole, and can do everything probably better than anyone else at their positions except shoot from deep. Rose runs circles around Francis and Isiah on the boards.

  7. Actually, the idiot is Ochocinco for not changing his name to the right thing. But that wouldn't be nearly as funny or cool had he done "ochenta y cinco" or "ochenty cinco". Technically his name isn't wrong. He doesn't call himself number eighty-five. He calls himself eight five. So, technically his name is correct in being Ocho Cinco (two words, both capitalized). Did he ever call himself eight five? I've heard plenty of people referred to as the individual digits, and not the actual number, but how did that go with Chad? On second thought, I don't give a crap. Why am I talking about this? Yeah, me either. He's a moron either way.
  8. I'm sure they think they can win. 3 of the next 4 at home. Ray Allen went insane in the 2nd half for 27 and they still barely pulled it out. If Rose and Hinrich aren't in foul trouble in the first half, they probably win it (of course, the Celts bigs got into foul trouble too).

  10. I agree. I think Cutler can do for Lloyd what he did for Royal last year. I wouldn't go that far, but 50-60 catches isn't out of the realm of possibility, even if he is the 3rd or 4th WR.
  11. Man, I read that as Brian Barden, the latest pixie dust recipient.
  12. FYI, I think the only way the Celtics win this series is if it goes 7 games. Three out of the next 4 in Chicago means that Boston would have to win at least 2 of 3 on the road to even win in 6. I don't think that happens without a major collapse by the Bulls or a miraculous recovery by Garnett.
  13. That sucked. I expected a loss, but I really wanted that win. To be honest, nobody has guarded Allen all series long. The shots just fell in the 2nd half. I think the Bulls played really well in the 2 games so far, and they should play better at home. The Celtics better bring it better than that if they want to win 1 in Chicago. I fully expect them to, but at this point the Bulls are 50/50 to win this series. They have a better chance to win it in 5 or 6 than Boston with 3 of the next 4 in Chicago.
  14. Well, it's mid-april, the Cubs are in first place, and some other big bats, Bradley/Soto, have yet to show anything either. I think he needs to see more prolonged decline by Lee as well as the team struggling, before he will make a move. I think you can go back to the 2nd half of last year to see DLee has started a prolonged decline. Soto and Bradley are different situations because they both had solid seasons last year. DLee started off hot last year, but started to decline from about June on. Still, there's no reason to move him down when the 2 most likely guys to move up (Bradley and Soto) are actually hitting the ball worse than Lee right now. I really don't want to see Theriot moved to 2 with Fukudome 3rd.
  15. Seriously? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3481361 Seriously, I didn't know. Really? I don't know if he'll be suspended next year (I believe he was the last few of 08), but he had a really solid year last year. 65 catches, 761 yards...and he only played 12 games. Not a great YPC, but over 16 games that's 87 catches for 1000 yards.

  17. I think you'll see a similar style offense. It's not like the old one never threw downfield, Rex did it a lot, and Orton threw some as well. The difference is hopefully more of them will be completed. Also, a lot of that depends on protection. I think I'd prefer they sign a free agent WR and draft somebody else in the 2nd, because I have my doubts about how much a 2nd round WR will provide to the Bears this year. The only problem is the available WRs are felons (Burress, Matt Jones, Reggie Williams) or 80 years old (Harrison). I tend to agree with you though. I'd rather pick up one of these guys regardless of their issues. However, I must point out that the Broncos drafted a WR in the 2nd round last year and that guy, Eddie Royal, came in and won the starting spot and caught 90 passes. The common denominator is Jay Cutler. Part of me thinks that he can turn any WR with a decent amount of talent into a very productive player.
  18. going for 2 on the DL this week?
  19. I only say "we/us" for IU sports, unless it's a major happening. AKA when the Bears went to the Superbowl, I was screaming "we're going to Miami!"
  20. I think if Sanchez lasts this long, the Jets would be absolutely ecstatic. He's quite possibly the best QB in this draft, and that is huge question mark for this team. They definitely will be thrilled if he's there (which I think he will be), but I still think Stafford is the best QB in the draft. Neither is an elite prospect (Peyton Manning, etc), though. Sanchez will go top 7. If he gets past Seattle, someone will trade up (Denver, Tampa). Sanchez isn't an elite prospect, but I expect him to have a better career than Stafford. Reminds me a lot of Aaron Rodgers.
  21. Blair's gonna be a good pro player. Never will be a star like the guy he gets compared to (Barkley), but he will get some team 15-10 in his prime.
  22. Cole Hamels. Pitch like you are Cole Hamels.

  24. My team is ass. I need a SP and 2 OFs. The schedule makers didn't help me much either, getting the 2 best teams in my division right off the bat.
  25. Houston selects Clay Matthews, LB USC
