  1. [expletive] awesome. I'm so glad we've got a handle on the O-Line now. We still sorta need a RT but it could be a lot worse Speaking of which, I was sure we'd see Eben Britton back by now.
  2. Better get a good backup. 13 games in the last 2 years. Not a difference maker when he is in there. Whatever he costs, I'd rather have spent 500K-1Mil more on someone similar who might actually play 16 games this year.
  3. Sure why not. Go get 'em Jets. Can't blame him. I wanted him back, FWIW. 4Mil for a guy you never want to see on the field. Glad they're not matching that crap.
  4. [expletive] awesome. I'm so glad we've got a handle on the O-Line now. Apparently, he's playing Guard too. Veldheer got 37.5Mil from Arizona. Nobody wants to play in Oakland.
  5. DJ Williams now officially back.
  6. McCluster to Titans. Relevant to Bears, as now the Chiefs are expected to go after Devin Hester. Looks like Hester will be going to play for Lovie or Toub.
  7. I'd like to see: Houston at DE. Whitner, Mitchell, Ward, whoever at SS. Walter Thurmond III at CB. Trade down, get an extra 3rd. Draft DT, DE, CB in the first 3 rounds. Maybe throw in a backup RB or QB if one falls to the 3rd (Mettenberger, Garoppolo). Then S, LB, TE, and whichever position of RB/QB you don't pick with that extra 3rd. I would be pretty surprised to see Houston at anything but the 3 technique. Despite the fact he's been a 4-3 DE his entire career? No idea who this guy is but just saw it after reading this post so Matt Miller ‏@nfldraftscout 1m Lamarr Houston to #Bears is a great signing. Love it. Versatile DE could also play 3-tech at 300lbs. "Could also" play 3-tech is a lot different from "anything other than 3-tech".
  8. Rodger Fuckin Saffold just got 5 years/42.5 Mil from the Raiders.
  9. Whitner got 4/$28. That's crazy. Ward was wanting 8 per year. Lol Browns. They're going to go from D'Qwell Jackson and TJ Ward to Karlos Dansby and Donte Whitner. Probably getting older and worse in the process, while spending more money.

  11. 6 sacks. But 41 QB hurries, 16 QB hits both top 10 in the league (more QB pressures than sack leader, Robert Mathis). He's never going to be a 10-sack guy, but I think he can give you 6-8, maybe more if he's willing to move inside on passing downs (not sure how much of that he's done in Oakland). But I think you can develop a guy on the opposite side of the DL that can really rake up some numbers. He had no help in Oakland. He's also an excellent run defender.
  12. If the offense improves as much as Jay typically has in the 2nd year of an offense...and the rookie OL gets better as 2nd year players tend to do....this offense will be amazing. To hell with the defense.
  13. I like Willie Young. Wonder how much he will cost. If in the 2-4Mil range, great pickup.

  15. He must really hate Martellus.
  16. Yeah, Johnson's probably closer to 10Mil/year. I really wanted Everson Griffen, but he re-upped with the Vikings (and got overpaid to do so). Really slim pickings now at DE. Jared Allen is the best out there right now. Ugh. TJ Ward is better than Byrd, IMO. Plus, the Bears want to give Conte a chance to compete. He and Byrd both can only play FS.
  17. Darren Sproles to Bears speculation is hovering around.
  18. Hmm...why not? If they cut him, he's not gonna sign somewhere for the same money anyway. Do you think he's just ready to go somewhere else? I don't know. It's an interesting scenario. He's still getting paid the same amount this year no matter what....whatever his salary is. He's already received his bonus money upfront. But he has taken 2 restructures already. He'd be taking a non-guaranteed sum of money for a team that is rebuilding the defense with Briggs his only buddy still here from the beginning of his time here. And I've always assumed Peppers wouldn't have that type of loyalty to the Bears to do anything to help the franchise that doesn't really help him. A pay cut wouldn't help him because he would be getting no additional guarantees. His only incentive is if he thinks this team is close to a ring and he wants to be a part of it.
  19. Yeah, that would be ideal. But I don't see Peppers taking a pay cut, and the Bears can't take the $18Mil cap hit nor can they afford to extend him to push the problem out more. But those 2 would be 2 of the top 5 run defending DEs in the league that aren't the jumbo sized guys like Red Bryant.
  20. Those are my 3 also. Leal, Cabrera, and Bruno I guess would be next.
  21. Michael Bennett is very good. Not elite, but probably a better pass rusher than Peppers at this point. Still need something along side him at DT and the opposite DE, if they cut Peppers. I'd be fine with a safety like Mitchell. Ihedibo is OK. Mundy was pretty bad as a Steeler. Don't want him. Wonder what they're going to do at CB. I'd like to sign someone and draft someone. But if you don't at least sign someone capable of starting, they're probably going into the draft hoping for Gilbert or Dennard in the 1st, which is fine...but it pushes more DL help down the line.
  22. I think ideally you don't restructure Cutler. Id rather cut Peppers now and be able to have a very reasonably priced Cutler with no guaranteed money after 3 years.
  23. Holy [expletive]!
  24. I can't wait till the playoffs. [expletive] it. This team can go deep. ECF or bust.
