  1. Two years ago, did we think we'd have a duo clearly better than Jones and White? Wow. The Bears duo had more yards and TDs last year than Jones and White did in 2012. Just 14 months ago, the Bears top 2 WRs were Devin Hester and Earl Bennett. Huh? 14 months ago we had Brandon Marshall. What the hell year is this? Damn. :banghead:
  2. I think Jamison is probably the best comp I've heard for McDermott. McDermott's a better shooter, Jamison better inside. Both combo 3/4 guys. Another good comp for McDermott is probably Wally Sczerbiak. Career 41% from 3. Similar size. But McDermott is a MUCH better rebounder from the looks of things. Wally only got 4 boards per game in his career. Ugh.

  4. Agreed. He can go 0-for Iowa and I still want him in at least 1 major league game, televised so I can watch.
  5. I would have traded the 1st round pick and some player I've never heard of for Affalo.
  6. And Manny is now with Iowa, idk if he will get into a game today though. No DH vs. another NL team. If he's going to play, it's going to be in the field.
  7. Not really. That's pretty productive despite the K/BB rates. Shows his approach won't completely kill him, though obviously his numbers could be immaculate with a 5% positive change to BB and K rate.
  8. Big 3 gets (hopefully) 8 PAs each in Colorado Springs today! WOO!
  9. If I had to project that trio for 2015, which I fully and freely admit is really tricky and has a very wide range of outcomes, I'd take the under on hitting those marks. I trust Bryant to get the .800, I see Alcantara as a high-.600s rookie (which is still not too bad these days) and WTF knows what is going on with Baez. Yeah, under across the board is most likely. But I expect them all to be above that maybe by year 2, definitely Bryant and Alcantara.
  10. Yes it is. Melo has clear defensive deficiencies, never been close to a ring, and would be coming to a team that has had tons of success due to defensive prowess. LBJ is undisputed the best in the game. It's like Jordan vs. Iverson. But getting Melo or LeBron is not adding pieces. This isn't getting Grant or Rodman. You are adding superstars. But that's what the league is. You add superstars. And the Bulls, at least, have a team that is very close. It's not like the Knicks who tried to buy a ring with Melo and Amare 4 years ago. It's not even like the Heat, who had 2 straight 1st round exits (after a league worst 2008 season) and weren't really all that close 4 years ago before adding 2 superstars.

  12. Yeah, if you don't want LeBron on your team, you're lying. But it would obviously be more satisfying to win a ring while doing it respectfully by building, developing, and adding pieces (instead of THE piece). Honestly, by the 5th championship, the 90s Bulls got kinda boring and unsatisfying. The first 2 were amazing. The 3rd was still pretty good. The 4th was as amazing as the first 2 because Jordan came back after 2 years off. But by the 5th, it was pretty clear the Bulls were going to win as long as they wanted to, though the 72-win team was amazing just for being the best ever.
  13. I think it's awesome. Probably not realistic. Where are the 2014 Bulls picks going?
  14. When is the last time a player performed well and declined to use an opt out in any sport ever? We knew LeBron was going to opt out 4 years ago.
  15. They can always move him to the OF and say he needs reps out there defensively.
  16. I think they'd both have to play off the ball a little, but it's really clear Rose needs another guy who can create. If I had to guess Melo ends up dominating the ball more, especially in the half court. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Melo can spot up and shoot. Both he and Rose's games are based on isolation/pick-n-roll. But they can easily work together. Rose is still a PG. He will have the ball and can distribute to Melo on the wing and in the post. It's just like the Heat when Wade was healthy. Basically Melo and DRose would take turns running the pick and roll with Taj/Noah to get a shot and/or create.
  17. I'm guessing he can do whatever the [expletive] he wants. He's taking Javy's catchphrase.
  18. I don't hate that deal. I think Sanchez can be fixed. If the Cubs are confident they are the team that can do that, it's a doable deal....but probably not for another month or so to see if someone else can top that. I agree you do have to deal him before this year's deadline. No contract. Value lessens if he struggles down the stretch or next year, in a contract year. I really want the O's to make a run at Samardzija. Badly.
  19. Thanks wiki. So he didn't play in 2013. He's old and has had injury issues. This guy can't be any good anymore, can he? He was already starting his downslide due to aging. He was still solid, but he was the premier SS in the league in Arizona's Superbowl year. He'll be 35 in October, so not sure what he has left. He's strictly an in-the-box safety though. So, conceivably he'll have to beat out Mundy, which has 0 chance of happening. Mundy did play some SS and FS last year, but he's better at strong also, but I'd imagine if Wilson is amazing in camp Mundy would move to FS and save the Bears from starting a rookie (Vereen) or Conte back there. Of course, that combo would struggle in coverage, but potentially could be amazing tackling.
  20. Nobody is really talking about the Lakers, but they need to make a splash. I don't see LeBron and Melo and Kobe, but I could see Melo and Love going there.
  21. Yeah, that's about what I'm expecting. A pretty good team. If nobody else in the East does anything significant, that's Indiana level. Good enough to beat Miami if all goes right for us and wrong for them.
  22. Bryant walked twice, with no Ks. Seeing the ball well. He's about to get hot. And I actually like seeing Javy singles in the boxscore. Lets my brain think he's consistently working on cutting down his swing in certain situations, even if that's not true.
