It's almost like the Cubs didn't lose Game 1 on the road a week ago. The Cubs (Lester) gave up runs on a bloop after 2 seeing eye grounders, when he should have been out of the inning; on a 3-1 pitch after a missed strike call put him in the hole in the AB, and when his catcher didn't move up to catch a ball. Bloopers happen, but get rid of the defensive lapses and the Cubs have a good chance to win that game last night. I think the cold psyched a couple guys out last night (looking at you Soler, and all guys who came in off the bench). And I think the fact that Arrieta gave up 4 runs last time out is a good thing for this game. When the Cubs were up 4-0 in Pittsburgh and he had the bases loaded, I said to myself "he given up 4 runs in the last 2 1/2 months, he's not going to give up 4 in an inning". So, now I'm saying, he allowed 4 runs in a game for the first time in 2 1/2 months, he isn't going to do that 2 times in a row. No wind blowing out, cold weather, not a great contact lineup....Arrieta has got this under control. Oh and Harvey is toast the next time we see him.
