Jon will not pitch on 3 days rest if we are up 2-1. Even if we are down 2-1 I'm not 100% sure he does I'd definitely throw him down 2-1. But up 2-1, I'd let them make the panic move and put Lackey on 3-days rest. That'll put Lester against a guy the Cubs put up 5 runs on today.

Yeah, I think you have to play Schwarber. He has 4 of the 10 hits in the 2 playoff games. But I do think you have to get either Soler or Baez in there.

I believe your exact words were "matheny running circles around maddon". Maybe you see that was hyperbole now (going to "had a better game"), but what you said was wrong. Matheny had a pitcher the Cubs couldn't hit.

How so? well he sure picked the right pinch hitter there. meanwhile maddon let Ross take his wet noodle to the plate with a runner on base and no outs all so he can catch his best buddy for 2 more innings. I don't have a problem with letting Ross hit in a 1-0 game where the Cards didn't really have anything going on offensively.
