  1. LOL at 'became available today'. What a douchebag. What I don't get is why the hell did they need to see a video? Everyone knew he beat her up and dragged her unconscious body out of an elevator. The NFL saw the video and was like, "Oh we didn't know he hit her THAT hard". WTF does it matter? No to mention it's complete [expletive] that they didn't see it before now.
  2. At first glance, i thought Briggs had a decent game. I thought he looked noticeably faster. I thought that Dixon run was on Bostic, and the game-winner on Mundy. But those are both on Briggs after seeing still photos. Mundy clearly had the QB on the read option play. Briggs should have been able to keep his feet and slide down the line on the Jackson run. [expletive] what has happened to him? I'd rather see DJ/Bostic as the nickel LBs at this point. I also thought the CBs were decent. A lot of passes completed were up the seam against the Cover 2, which is the textbook way to beat that scheme. Not on the CBs. Not sure what else could be other than Jennings not getting his head turned very early in the game.
  3. Before yesterday, the Bills were 0-5 in Chicago with a total score of 135-39.
  4. Um...not really all that boggling. He was hurt almost the entire preseason. I interpreted the statement as to why he had to settle for a back-up role instead of signing with a team where he would have been the starter. But, if he had stayed healthy, he probably would've been the starter, with Garza moved back to backup. That seemed to be the plan when he was signed. Ola was pretty good at LG too. I feel like Jordan Mills was pretty bad, but I didn't watch close enough. I think Bushrod has been pretty amazing since camp. I'd guess Slauson is more hurt than Garza, but I hope it's the opposite. No reason Garza should ever get the starting C job back from DelaPuente.
  5. I thought the line in particular played very well. Lance Briggs had a terrible game and, because of two plays, gave up 85 of Buffalo's 193 yards on the ground. He completely missed his assignment on each of those long run plays. D Line still needs more pressure, but I thought they played a better game than people are recognizing. In what way? They didn't get pressure and were more or less non-factors. Not being as awful as last year's line doesn't make them ok, let alone qualify as playing well. Paea made a couple good plays early (literally first 2 plays), Ratliff made a couple plays in the 2nd half, Young looked really good early. Allen had 1 play where he forced Manuel out of the pocket. I thought Sutton looked good in limited snaps. But overall, that's just not good enough.
  6. Turnovers. Stop giving them. Start getting them.
  7. Conte's pick was off a blitz; good things happen when you get pressure. Let's see what happens next week, but I am very concerned by the defensive scheme. On the plus side, assuming Jeffrey's hamstring is okay, SF lost both starting CBs today, and most of SF's points came on idiotic play from America's Saddest QB True, though Kapernick looked pretty good and has torn us up in the past. That's true;the defense (which I thought was okay today, honestly, despite all the yards rushing) is going to have to find a way to contain him. But I do think we can put up points on them. They weren't ok. Have to factor in that Buffalo sucks. Oh and EJ Manuel threw for a career best completion percentage. This was the same crap as last year a and the Bears had better DT and SS play than they did at any point last year.
  8. Same old Bears defense? 2013 = 161.4 yards per game, 5.3 yards per carry Today = 193 yards, 5.8 per carry. 2013= 31 sacks, Today = 1 sack, 1 other QB hit. I read on Twitter that the Bears only blitzed 4 total times today. A team that couldn't get pressure against a QB prone to mistakes, only 4 blitzes and I'm sure they all weren't pass blitzes either.
  9. Bears starting middle linebacker did not appear on the stat sheet today. Bears played a lot of nickel but damn.
  10. I wish they would have called one of the pass interference calls on the Bears FG drive. I wish Cutler didn't throw across his body on 3rd and 1. I wish Cutler hadn't lost both his pro bowl WRs halfway through the game. .
  11. Hey guys, Garza stinks.
  12. [expletive] Marty!
  13. Great throw Jay.
  14. Didn't see him hurt. I'm guessing it's conditioning related. Said they were going to rotate.
  15. Conte not in this series.
  16. Fuller got held on the edge there.
  17. Here's the point where it sucks to be tied with a team that can't stop us.
  18. Just run the offense Trestman WTF?
  19. Bears D with a 3 and out to start. Haven't had a 3 and out since October 2009 or so.
  20. Bears D with a 3 and out to start. Haven't had a 3 and out since October 2009 or so.
  21. Gilmore practiced every day against Alshon Jeffery at So Carolina for 2-3 years also so they lose some familiarity. Our old friend, Corey Graham is getting the start in his place.
  22. Bears inactives: Kelvin Hayden, Tony Fiammetta, David Bass, Khaseem Greene, Cornelius Washington, Charles Leno Jr, David Fales."
  23. My bold predictions for this season. 1. Every year there is a team that starts on a long undefeated streak and doesn't win the Super Bowl. This year, that team will be the Indianapolis Colts starting 9-0. A streak that will include wins over Denver, Philly, and Cincinnati. 2. Seattle will continue the 8-year streak of a Superbowl champ NOT winning a playoff game the next year, though they will be a playoff team and host said playoff game. 3. Five In/Five Out. Five playoff teams that will not make it this year: Green Bay, San Francisco, Kansas City, Carolina, and San Diego. In = Chicago, Tampa Bay, Arizona, Tennessee and Buffalo. Yes, Buffalo. 4. Defense is back! Teams with mediocre offenses and strong defenses will be the story of the season as teams with top 10 defenses will fare better than teams with top 10 offenses, with more playoff teams coming w top 10 D's. 5. Perennial contenders, GB and SF will have disasterous seasons. SF will fall due to contract disputes from players and Harbaugh, suspensions, in-fighting, inconsistent QB play. Injuries will finally catch up to GB as they will not be able to squeak into the playoffs after this year's Aaron Rodgers' injury. 6. For only the 3rd time in NFL history, a RB will have over 1000 yards receiving. That RB, Darren Sproles. 7. Jacksonville and Cleveland will each win at least 7 games, and neither will draft in the top 10 for the first time in over 10 years. 8. Peyton, Brady, Brees nor Stafford will lead the league in passing yards or TDs. One of Rivers, Luck, or Ryan will. 9. Storied franchises: Steelers, Giants, Cowboys, and 49ers all pick in the top 10 next draft. 10. The Patriots will win the Superbowl. AFCE- Patriots, Bills, Jets, Dolphins AFCN- Bengals, Ravens, Browns, Steelers AFCS- Colts, Titans, Jags, Texans AFCW- Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, Chiefs NFCE- Eagles, Redskins, Giants, Cowboys NFCN- Bears, Lions, Packers, Vikings NFCS- Saints, Bucs, Falcons, Panthers NFCW- Seahawks, Cards, 49ers, Rams Superbowl= Patriots over Eagles
  24. He had 2 others that played at VT and in the NFL.
  25. The play where he rolled right and threw back left to the endzone...and it was nearly picked off. Collinsworth gushed about his arm strength...I know that NOLA doesn't like to hear it, but man...if that'd been Cutler... I just think you guys are so hypersensitive about him, much the way I would be about a Saint probably. Any QB who isn't named Peyton, Rodgers, Brady or Brees would have been called out for a dumb decision on that play. In fact, I hear national announcers calling out Drew for some boneheaded things he's done in the past during broadcasts. It's just gotten to the point where when any QB in the league uses questionable judgement, some guys go there immediately. Hell, Cutler is a pretty good QB but Romo and Eli with his 2 rings get at least as much grief as Jay. If anyone gets off too easy by the media, it's not Rodgers but Matty Ice in Atlanta. As a Bears fan, I must say this post is 100% true. Brees had a pretty shitty year a few years ago (led league in INTs) and made repeated bad decisions.
