  1. I don't know that D. Jackson and Decker are going to play this week. I love Vereen this year, even though he did nothing last week. Other than that, I guess Fred Jackson and Colston.
  2. Gore is a pretty safe play. Solid, but unspectacular. If Martin does play, I imagine he'll split a bunch of carries with Rainey, who was pretty good last week in Martin's absence.
  3. Dalton had 250 and a TD without Green last week. 300 and a TD with Green in Week 1. Cousins has struggled when getting extended playing time. Has never really put together back-to-back strong games.
  4. What's wrong with Dalton? He hasn't really put up the points yet this year but is playing well. I think Tennessee has the worst pass D of those opponents too.
  5. Mulligan is awful.
  6. Hell yeah they are! My nephew is the SIU TE/H-back. #4. Soon to be 3-time FCS All-American. He's awesome. He really should be drafted after this year. I think we'll give Purdue a game. Find a way to beat them and a playoff spot is a near lock. Yeah hoping for a big game on B1G network. That would certainly help his draft stock along with a combine invite and a good showing. SIU almost and maybe should have beaten Illinois last year.
  7. Hell yeah they are! My nephew is the SIU TE/H-back. #4. Soon to be 3-time FCS All-American. You should go, you can get 50 yard line seats right behind the SIU bench for $30-$40. I'm in Pittsburgh. Was planning on making a trip out, but am not. They'll be in Youngstown next month. I do have about 938 family members that will be there, though. My sister is a Purdue alum.

  9. So, he'd rather not play? Frey is better anyway.
  10. What in thee hell was that?
  11. Andy Dalton has thrown the ball 63 times this year. He has yet to take a hit.
  12. :( I'm sadder than I should be about this. No you're not.
  13. "@ZachZaidman: #Bears re-sign FB Tony Fiammetta to 53-man roster and add QB David Fales to practice squad."
  14. Tillman officially done for the season.
  15. I had my 49ers fan friend use the officiating as an excuse on Facebook. I pointed out their 1st TD was a delay of game. Their 1st FG was because of a Fuller defensive holding that was a hold, but extremely brief and probably could have not been called on 3rd and 21 when the ball went to the other side of the field. And the Bears didn't score earlier because Martellus somehow didn't get a catch along the sidelines that I still can't figure out. He responded with "we had 118 penalty yards". No mention of the fact the Bears had just as many penalties called against them and I didn't see a single penalty other than the Fuller one that was remotely questionable.
  16. Allen wasn't very good yesterday. The forced fumble was a really good play. But other than that, he didn't do much. Looked like he crashed on read option and LBs had contain for the most part but on the plays I thought it was clear he had contain, he didn't keep it very well. His pash rushing was below average IMO, and he only was a factor when cleaning up the end of Shea's sack (heh) of Kapernick.
  17. I played a last minute hunch and started Bishop Sankey over Lamar Miller. My opponent had Moreno and I didn't want Moreno to put up 20 at the expense of Miller. Sankey put up 0.3. Slightly outscored by Moreno 0.4. He also has Charles, Garcon, and Vereen who along w/ Moreno combined for 10.3 points.
  18. I think I'm missing something here. Yeah, that comes off a little weird. He played CB last night in the nickel. But it was the first time since college, but he was just in college 6 months ago. My understanding is he didn't play corner his senior year at Minnesota, so it's been even longer than just six months. ETA: Since before his junior year, per minnesotacubfan. Oh ok. I thought he played some CB last year.
  19. FWIW, the Bears are probably going to have to make another round of at least 3 roster moves. I'd re-sign Hayden and promote Frey from the practice squad. Both have played full seasons at nickel for the Bears. Let the best man win, though I'd probably be tempted to play Hayden on the outside in the nickel and keep Jennings in the slot. Hayden is pretty slow and I don't really like him covering a guy in space. May need a 3rd CB up if McManis is out for any period of time. If Conte is hurt for more than 2-3 weeks, probably going to have to find a S, at least for the practice squad. The Bears still have 4 other safeties, but 2 are rookies and 1 is a career special teamer. I'd love Vereen to get a shot to start. McCray is just a dude. Vereen can cover man-to-man so the Bears would be really versatile with him in there. May have to add a DT to the roster if Ratliff has to miss this week, but I'm guessing he is fine. I'd cut any and all of Draughn (Perry loses the KR job, but stays on roster because of speed), Washington/Bass (6 DEs on the roster, 3 have no snaps at DE, these 2 have been inactive both weeks), and Greene (also inactive both weeks). Then there's the possibility of IR'ing Tillman, which hopefully they won't have to do but I'm guessing they will.

  21. Ratliff is a concussion. Shouldn't be too much to overcome. I'd imagine a good chance to play Monday, if not, he won't miss more than that game. Conte worries me because it's the same shoulder. Really troubling that both he and Tillman appeared to suffer the same injuries they had last year. I've heard some conflicting reports this morning about which shoulder Conte injured. It has to be his left, because he did a body-bump with someone (Fuller, IIRC) after the game last night using his right side. That's good then. He had surgery on his right, I believe. I thought I heard he hurt his right shoulder.

  23. Bears are 6-0 under Trestman when they win the turnover battle.
  24. I don't know that it's a lock that it's a season-ender. Tillman could have come back last year if the Bears had made the playoffs and he got hurt later in the season than this year. Can't use the IR-designated to return anymore though. Either have to IR him for the season or keep his roster spot. Probably at least an 8 week thing. Tillman went out Week 9 before, so 8 weeks puts him playing in the playoffs. Ray Lewis missed 10 weeks with his in his final season.
