  1. Bostic playing really well.
  2. Cutler takes more late hits than anyone ever. People hate him.
  3. Mundy was soooo slow.
  4. What a terrible play call. You don't do that early before a team establishes its aggressiveness.
  5. Not a good year to be an aging CB. Tillman, Deangelo Hall, Ike Taylor all with season ending injuries. Champ Bailey got cut.
  6. Yeah, definitely some let down potential. Huge win the week before, Packers coming up. McClellin shouldn't be a huge loss though other than depth, and if there's any team they can afford to not have Tillman for it's the Jets. But yeah, I'm expecting to not be fully entertained either because it's just a boring game or the Bears struggle too much ala the 49ers game 1st half. Eh, forgot about Ratliff. That one really sucks.
  7. I have a feeling this is going to be a really ugly game. Ugly favors the Jets, but I feel like the Bears will win by a ridiculous score of like 13-9 or something. This would be a really good time for the Bears to get off to a strong start. Get a 2 score lead and the Jets will never catch them. But I think it's going to take a while for the Bears to get used to the blitzes they'll see. And I don't know how healthy Marshall and Jeffery will be to make them pay with big plays for blitzing.
  8. Playing CF defensively?
  9. So IU beat #18, but lost to the team that lost by 50 to #19. Could go either way vs Maryland but must win for bowl hopes.
  10. Shout out to Adrian Peterson and Doug Martin for being asshats.
  11. Wonder who's playing Sam and Nickel. Bostic didn't get much time at Sam LB in camp. Do they dare start Christian Jones? Should be a lot of base D played by the Bears in this one.
  12. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!
  13. Hell yeah they are! My nephew is the SIU TE/H-back. #4. Soon to be 3-time FCS All-American. A loss. But career best 10 catches for 136 yards.
  14. So....about this game. I think the first 2 games have really prepared the Bears for this game. The Jets will essentially run the same offense as Buffalo, and a lot of the defense we saw from the 49ers. On offense, the Jets will run a bunch of zone read. They will run out of heavy sets with FBs, TEs, extra OL. They will spread out with 3 wide and run inside on the Bears' nickel. Like Buffalo, they will run 3 RBs out there. Hell, the 3 RBs will be pretty similar to Buffalo's group. Ivory is the steady, unspectacular but effective back ala Fred Jackson. Chris Johnson is the potential big play guy like Spiller. Powell is a short yardage guy like Dixon. In the pass game, they'll try to move Geno Smith around and get him some throws outside of the pocket. The Bills had most of their success with Manuel throwing on the roll out. They aren't really special at WR, especially if Decker is out, but they have some guys that are tough to cover if you give them a chance to improvise after losing pocket contain. On defense, the Jets will be a 3-4 like last week. They have a similar advantage against Michael Ola with Sheldon Richardson lined up over him most of the day. They don't really have that elite edge rusher though (like SF who didn't have Aldon Smith), so they will send an array of blitzes at Cutler and an OL that features a couple guys that could still struggle with a variety of pressure looks. Last week, the Bears really took advantage of Marshall against a converted safety, as he caught all 3 TDs vs the coverage of Jimmie Ward. This week, the Jets actually start a former college safety, Antonio Allen, at CB. On the other side, Dee Milliner may not be to go so HUGE advantage to the Bears on the outside. If the Jets blitz, that'll put a lot of man coverage on 2 all pros for a team that just gave up 200+ to Jordy Nelson last week. I do expect Cutler to have more pressure than he's seen this week. He has to stay patient and big plays will be there for the taking. I don't expect Forte to have much running room again as this is the #1 run D that he'll face, but should have some say in the pass game. Watch for Santonio Holmes to make a couple big plays. He should be motivated against his former team and he has now been in this offense for over a month. Defensively, Geno is prone to turnovers but you gotta stop the run first. I don't think the Jets can put up 20 against the Bears, so that's the magic number to put up to escape with a win.
  15. You know who is coming out of this looking the best? Ray Rice. From all indications, this was a 1 time event (not that it even remotely condones his actions) and he and his now wife had gotten past it. They did all the counseling. Rice has never lied or downplayed the situation. He hasn't always said the right things as he's had his wife doing too much of the talking, but he's never hidden from any of it. Goodell, the Ravens, Rice's lawyers, etc. have done everything wrong and made this situation worse.
  16. Yes. Oh and the proximity for south bend. I live near South Bend and I will certainly be going to more games. There are a [expletive] load of Cubs fans in the area and I'm sure attendance will increase. Yeah, I was born and (mostly) raised in South Bend. I'll go to a game when I go visit my mom. I would have had season tickets if they were a Cubs affiliate about 12-15 years ago, as I went to most games when the (then Cubs affiliate) Lansing Lugnuts came to town with the likes of Corey Patterson, Hee Seop Choi, Luis Montanez, etc. They didn't do all that well as a White Sox affiliate back in the day, but nobody likes the Sox.
  17. Yes. Oh and the proximity for south bend.
  18. Im going to go back to school to get a PR degree and then talk to Goodell. They could make a PR firm rich!
  19. It's like 12 bucks, but it's a 2 and a half hour ride. I don't remember it being that long (of course this was 10+ years ago). Does that include the hour time difference?
  20. There's also the SouthShore train line that goes from downtown Chicago to the South Bend airport. Last I knew it was very affordable too. I used to go from SB to Chicago every other Friday when the Cubs were home to catch a game. The ballpark in SB was terrible last I knew though. The frontier league park near me is much better (and about 25 years newer).
  21. I've had Chipotle once in my life and I remember it was decent, but don't remember how good. Qdoba is below average, but $5 Burrito Friday and close walking distance from work wins out. I really like Moe's though.
  22. I'd probably lean towards trading Forte for him in non-PPR. I'd see if you can get him to throw in a RB for depth and you give up a lesser WR to complete the deal.
  23. All those years I lived in South Bend and had to watch the White Sox and D'Backs prospects. NOW they move to SB? [expletive]!
