  1. It sounded like they had a basic agreement once the deadline passed, so I'm not that surprised. It's certainly nice to have it done two days before camp begins, though. I was fully expecting him to symbolically sit out at least part of training camp, if not all the preseason. But I was certain he'd be around for all 16 games. I wonder how the "Bears are having a disastrous offseason" crowd will respond. I expected him to miss a couple games, actually. I figured he'd sit out most of training camp and when he came back would be symbolically benched for a few games because he "wasn't ready." Things worked out in this whole Briggs thing. This is all very funny considering the Bears just locked up Tillman and Vasher. The Bears pay their players. Anyone who still says the Bears are still a cheap organization is wrong. Sounds like some decision were made about who is worth keeping for their price and who isn't. I think it also says a lot about who the Org. thinks is ultimately replaceable. I'm ready for camp!
  2. Well done, Bears. They stared this guy down. Briggs had nowhere to go.
  3. Peanut Deal is very reasonable. I am glad to see it.
  4. Don't you have a wife and a kid? http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/neglect Wow. Stay classy.
  5. wow, making jokes about chemical imbalances. at least you were clever abou... oh wait, it wasn't clever either. your post had nearly formed a whole point for once, then that. good job. Shut the hell up chief....I have ADD myself, so I can joke about it all I want. Sounds like you don't have a lot of respect for yourself if you are saying things like that.
  6. Burnt. I wouldn't have thrown it back either, though. That's like getting hit by a gold bar.
  7. fourth I hope Bonds hits 1000 homeruns.
  8. Does this really matter that much? I don't mind him hitting leadoff as that will maximize his plate appearances. I doubt it really makes that much of a difference either way, though.
  9. I haven't been following the game thread until now, but if people are laying that on Kendall, they're being simply ridiculous. short hop on a throw from Soriano. Barrett would have allowed two runs on that play. Soriano wouldn't have even thrown that ball because he has no confidence in Barrett.
  10. I;d also like to add that Hendry didn't sell low on Barrett. That's hindsight.
  11. Stupid. I hate these people.
  12. Be careful. You're getting dangerously close to becoming a member of the "luck brigade." Apparently, continuously outscoring your opponents will lead to victories. Also, it seems that the Cubs aren't inherently bad at one run games but rather were just on the negative side of some variance.
  13. This is fantastic news.
  14. What's really hilarious is that you don't have a basic understanding of the bottom-line nature of business and the importance of unique assets. i understand that the dude makes money. i'm just trying to say that there is no direct correlation between his making money for the team and the team spending more money on the team. for other examples, see: every team that has extorted a new stadium out of the taxpayers' pockets You're in over your head.
  15. These clowns announcing couldn't be any worse.
  16. Wow. Tough crowd. Can't really get too excited about a 4-3 trip against the likes of the Nationals and the Pirates. Who said to get excited? Pretty hard to complain about how things have got the last 3 weeks. I'm sure people will find reason to.
  17. That's what I was hoping for, I figured we could win both series and go 5-2, and hopefully the Brewers would split then lose a series and go 3-4. Looks like the Pirates took an extra game from each of us. Agreed. A couple of things are concerning but it's pretty tough to complain considering how the last month has gone.
