  1. John Clayton was on Mike and Mike this morning and Greenberg asked him what the most impressive thing he's seen so far in his camp tour. The Bears Offense.
  2. Anze, are you taking into account the clutch steals? Not all steals are created equal, my friend.
  3. Thought they were going to give him a one year deal. Seems like a reasonable contract. It's nice to have a team that people want to play for.
  4. Seems like a very nice move.
  5. Bears trade for DT Darwin Walker. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=3632
  6. Lame. Hope that doesn't come back to bite us in the ass.
  7. Benson quotes from a suntimes article: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/487913,CST-SPT-mully29.article
  8. Not much. http://assets.chicagobears.com/UserFiles/Image/story_photos/DManning_inside092006.jpg Yeah, I guess not.
  9. http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2007-07/31481950.jpg D. Manning looks quite a bit bigger than last year, no?
  10. They are better than last year's team. Will they be as lucky? Serious injuries can derail any team.
  11. He's been slumping. Less than two weeks ago he was pushing a 900 OPS. He has hit only 1 homer this month but he tends to hit them in bunches, as we've seen. I wouldn't get your panties in a bunch about a slump. I doubt you thought you were wrong about him when he was raking in June. He has a history of being able to put up monster months like we saw in June. Unfortunately he puts up terrible months too. None of what he's done so far should have surprised anyone. I don't think it has.
  12. He's streaky. Posting his numbers on either side of a streak isn't going to tell you much. I expect him to surpass his career line this year. He's probably not worth the money we gave him, but I'm less concerned about that than many around here.
  13. Acticle goes on to contine Hester praise. Sounds like he has the chance to be an impact player. Link
  14. The bottom line is that the Bears needed better play from their starting ends than they got last year. Bears management doesn't seem satisfied with the ends. I can see them interested in Rice and I can see Rice being interested in the Bears. Ultimately will depend on the money, as always.
  15. Without researching this for a single second, I'll go ahead and say sure. Edit: I just read up on Simion Rice and I'd give him a shot for a decent price.
  16. lol @ getting rid of Barrett and then scrambling to get a catcher who can hit the ball past the mound.
  17. Take lots of pictures please.
  18. Jones was ok. He's nothing special. He was special in the postseason though. I think his regular season numbers would probably be equaled by the average NFL running back if he had the carries. Reading stuff in the offseason, you'd think the Bears traded away Gale Payton. Jones is now probably one of the more overrated players in the league at this point. I don't think he's going to have a lot of success with the Jets.
  19. Me too. Grossman does have to improve his overall numbers, but he has shown he can do it. It's not like he was putting up a 70 passer rating every game. He put up 10 games over 85. While the better competition this year, probably won't lead to as many great games this year, if he can eliminate the blowup games, he's a top 10 QB in the league. I don't know how to calculate QB rating, but I'd imagine if you take out the GB game and the Cards game and make them average, you'd already have Grossman in the top 10 QBs. I agree with all of the above. I am expecting a great season. Edit: I was going to write a long post expounding on my feelings about the Bears this year, but honestly, it's mostly covered by the above. The Bears are going to romp through the NFC again this year. They are a level ahead. The Saints managed to get it close but the Bears could have won that game 60-7 if not for a few near misses and a pick to free Reggie Bush.
  20. My ESPN feed is effed. The WGN feed isn't in HD. The Worst.
