  1. Everything will be all better when they roll Sammy out at the Cubs Convention and introduce their new closer, Matt Festa.
  2. I'm not thrilled with how the Cubs have handled the offseason, but Tucker could absolutely be the difference that allows the Cubs to sneak into the playoffs in 2025. With that said, I still agree with the premise that if you're going to make that deal, the Cubs need to do everything in their power to extend him. Sadly, I think that power is above Jed's pay grade.
  3. Never give up the fight.
  4. That was something, and the scary part is that Illinois didn't even shoot well from three. This team is absolutely a national title contender.
  5. Everyone understands, and I get it, but it's still really dirty. Agreeing to terms with a kid where life-changing money is involved and then backing out because a bigger fish comes along. Yes, that kid may still get similar money from someone else, but that has a domino effect as well. Somewhere down the line, money is getting unfairly taken away from these young international players. You can't blame the teams for doing it, but the system sucks.
  6. You forgot the obvious, re-sign Marcedes Lewis.
  7. I wouldn't even do that. It's time to move on and find more reliable linemen, even if they don't have quite the same talent ceiling. Yes, Jenkins can be a very good player when healthy, but there is no reason to believe that he will ever remain healthy. I would rather not even have him factored into any permutation of the line construction, because whatever you are hoping to get from him, you probably aren't going to get.
  8. With a bunch of reserves no less. No excuses, they just get the job done. I'm afraid the injuries may finally catch up to them in the playoffs, but I still wouldn't bet against them.
  9. Not directly Bears related, but I have no idea how Detroit is hanging on to the lead in this game. They should probably be down 2 touchdowns.
  10. Is that a last place schedule? Because it sure doesn't feel like one.
  11. Do the Bears have to keep Cairo Santos now, or can they finally get a real kicker? Any number of guys kicking in the UFL can probably do the job.
  12. Along those lines, why did the Packers call timeout with time left on the play clock before kicking the field goal? That time was the difference in the game.
  13. Panthers win, so the absolute worst case draft position scenario has come true.
  14. How many WR.screens will it take to get into FG range?
  15. Saints are losing now. #10 here we come.
  16. It's like he thought "I have this crazy trick play that's going to get them for sure", but once that was used up, they didn't have any normal plays they could count on to get 1 yard.
  17. They can't drop below 10th, but picking 10th AND having the Carolina 2nd rounder drop several slots would suck.
  18. Bears win, Carolina win, Saints lose would be a complete disaster scenario.
  19. Bears decision making is beyond explanation. You were going to go for 2 from 2 yards out, but not from 1 yard out?
  20. Caleb is making some nice throws, so why not have a WR throw a deep ball for an easy interception?
  21. It's annoying that the Bears can't/don't even attempt to throw the ball down field. Jordan Love just floats the ball downfield to open receivers, while big-armed Caleb is relegated to negative yardage screen plays.
  22. The Bulls are retiring Derrick Rose's number, which I think is dumb. He was great for a few years before the injury, but there's no way he was good enough for long enough to justify having his number retired forever. If he had the same exact career 40 years ago, nobody would be calling for his number to be retired. This feels more like a PR stunt for a beloved modern player than an actual deserved honor.
  23. At least if the Saints win, the Bears will hold at #9 even if they win.
