  1. I noticed the little glove flip too. I don't know if we're reading too much into it, but if he really did intend it toward Murton then that really is uncalled for. Fiery temper or not, that's just being an ass. Not to mention, Murton's play wasn't an error.
  2. And this is only the second worst thing??? I think it is by far the worst result of his injury because it could cost us not only this year, but 2-3 years down the road due to a likely Baker contract extension.
  3. Well I was going to switch over to the Iowa game, but it looks like they're in a rain delay. Just not our day I guess!
  4. The only player in the starting lineup with a lower OBP than Pierre is Jacque Jones. I don't think Pierre is the lead-off hitter he was made out to be, and I don't think Pie will be the answer either. What about a Cedeno-Murton 1-2 punch next year?
  5. 2 straight at bats after Murton walked on 4 pitches, he has swung and retired himself on the first pitch. I just don't get it...
  6. Coming into this season, I saw two directions this team could go and they were both positive. 1) Cubs have a surprising season and challenge for the playoffs. Dusty gets an extension because of the good season and I could live with that if the team is winning. 2) Cubs have another down year and Dusty is not re-signed. Now with Lee's injury, there is a very good possibility that the Cubs will have a down year and Dusty will be re-signed because of the belief that he can't be blamed for injuries. I'm afraid we're stuck with at least another 2-3 years of bad managing
  7. Whenever Dusty comes out to make one of his frequent (and often unnecessary) double switches, I just hear Mr. Burns saying "It's called playing the percentages. It's what smart managers do to win ballgames."
  8. I would agree if Dempster hadn't been used so often already. I'm tired of Dusty bringing him into games with a 4 run lead. I'd much rather see him use those innings in a tie game.
  9. Right. I don't think anything would happen unless the Cubs were to first announce that the team is for sale. At that point it sounds like Mark Cuban could definitely get involved... that is if it ever gets to that point.
  10. I believe it was Mike & Mike. I'm trying to remember for sure whether I heard it on the way to work in the morning, or whether it was over lunch... so it's possible that it was Dan Patrick, but I think it was Mike & Mike. Correction - I now remember it was definitely over lunch so it was Dan Patrick.
  11. While driving to work this morning, I heard Mark Cuban on ESPN Radio. When asked if he would be interested in owning any Major League Baseball teams, he responded without hesitation, "The Cubs." I have heard in the past that he may be interested, but if the team does go up for sale at any point in the near future it sounds like he may be at the top of the list. Drop Tribune stock drop...
  12. I was there too, and it was a classic Ron Santo call. Great game.
  13. Braves unless he somehow wins a World Series with the Cubs then that is how he will be remembered.
  14. No Firefox here either. I have Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player, those are my only options.
  15. Slingbox is a little expensive when all I want is streaming audio. Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative for audio streaming from my home PC?
  16. My problem isn't that the stream is blocked, but that the popup window with the embedded Media player comes up completely blank. I need some way to load the stream directly into Media Player without using the popup on the MLB site.
  17. Unfortunately I don't have any control over the applications on my PC and all I have is Windows Media Player, but I'm unable to find any URL's to open for the streaming broadcasts.
  18. I subscribe to MLB Gameday audio and I'm unable to launch the Flash embedded player at work. Has anyone found a workaround for those of us who can't load the content in the player? Is it possible to get a URL that I can copy and paste directly into Windows Media Player? If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it!
