  1. Pierre got all of that one, look at it go. Must be the camo.
  2. I'm getting to a point that I just want them to lose for however long it takes for Dusty to get fired. I know it's not all his fault, but it sure as hell wouldn't hurt. As I alluded to in another thread, if the Cubs lose tonite, it will be the fourth losing streak of at least 7 games in the past year under Dusty. That isn't good. In a year??? That's just terrible. I want to see a manager with some fire...when was the last time Dusty got ejected for arguing? When you're losing this much surely there's SOMETHING to argue and show your team that you have some fight in you... Even today, Steve Stone insisted that it's only a matter of time before Baker gets an extension. How can Hendry possibly sell that to the fans? If that happens, does anyone want to put together a protest outside Wrigley trying to deter fans from going into the park? It probably won't happen, but we might get some pub for it. Perhaps a Homer Simpson-esque hunger strike while chained to the Harry Caray statue?

  4. I don't know about that, but with the Mets finally headed in the right direction I think we may have stolen away the title of "dollar for dollar the worst team in baseball."
  5. There's only one man who could light a fire under this Cubs team right now... You guessed it, Andres Nocioni!
  6. Not sure how much more of this I can take... I'm going to adopt a new 2nd team to follow and I think I'm gonna go with the Diamondbacks. Who's with me?
  7. Who would of thought that if we still had Patterson he would be our #2 outfielder?
  8. Not by much, but Yes..he's a better hitter than Guzman or Hill. That makes him better than Hairston, too. Which by default puts him above Brynum. Ahh, the transitive property at its best.
  9. And they don't even take the field to "Jump" anymore. I haven't been to a game yet this year, but it's not going to be the same when they run out to "Hit me baby one more time" or whatever the song of the month happens to be.
  10. I'm pretty much there. Better a catastrophic failure followed up by house cleaning than another mediocre season that brings back the same staff and players next year.
  11. I would still like to see another rehab start. He'll be lucky to make it 5 innings in a major league start with a 70-80 pitch limit.
  12. Did I hear the announcers say that his velocity has been between 89-92 and hit 94 a few times? If so, I know he's pitching well but that doesn't sound good!
  13. He'll be brought in for the ever important 4 run save.
  14. Jones' underhand flip into the stands at the end of the inning went further than his throw home.
  15. That's the only logical response if you ask me.
  16. I believe that would be the equivalent of the switch-hitting rule where you can't switch sides of the plate during the same at-bat (unless of course there is a pitching change).
  17. Have faith in Jody Davis!
  18. Steve Stone made a comment today that Wood is progressing well and looked great, but that Prior is behind schedule and has some discomfort.
  19. $10 a box? How many packs are in a box? Isn't it like $2-$3 just for 1 pack now, and if I remember right wasn't it like 24 packs per box? Of course I haven't bought baseball cards since about 1994 so I probably have no idea what I'm talking about. :)
