  1. If only Pie was hitting .396 in AAA maybe we we could find a place on the roster for him...
  2. They couldn't hit Christy Brinkley. Either could I... but I'd like to!
  3. I propose the Cubs play all day games for the rest of the year so that I don't have to waste my nights watching this stuff.
  4. He has a monstrous dip in too. He's turned into John Kruk. With talent.
  5. Good to see that players only meeting really make an impact. 4 pitches, 2 outs!
  6. He was out by a foot though, that ump was blind!
  7. It may be ridiculous, but I wouldn't expect anything less from Bonds.
  8. Is it just me or does Jacque swing in the same place every time regardless of where the ball is?
  9. I missed what Len just said. Did Wood throw yesterday or not?
  10. Anyone else watching this game in HD on Dish Network? The audio is a good second or more behind the video, really annoying...
  11. This is the worst part of it all. IMO, this team is much better than this. Eh, I don't know. It's a more talented, but equally as flawed team.
  12. Between the bullpen and the fielding, I feel sorry for the Cubs starting pitchers...
  13. i hate being right The problem is that the "pour it on" game is almost always followed by the "unable to score" game.
  14. Way to go Terrerro! I can't believe nobody has corrected O'Brien yet.
  15. I agree, that was inexcusable. Maybe if we stick both Soriano and Murton in Left Field at the same time they'll add up to one whole outfielder.
  16. nah we are gonna let him face all these lefties instead. Of course..They would neevr think of putting ion Cotts right now Of course not. We need Cotts for the 15th inning.
  17. It's funny to read "middle of the order" with Izturis up.
  18. Who wants to bet the Cubs run out of position players again tonight?
  19. a baseball clubhouse is not really comparable to an office-setting. drinking in the clubhouse is not the problem, it's alcoholism in general. they might as well just ban drinking in general for all the good this will accomplish. I once interviewed for and was offered an office job in the city where the president of the company told me they had beer in the refrigerator and were fine with people having a couple beers toward the end of the day. Anyway, I don't care one way or another about alcohol in the clubhouse, but I agree that this is a typical reactionary move that doesn't solve anything.
  20. Izturis is tied for the lead among NL shortstops with 5 Errors and has the lowest SS fielding percentage in the majors. We already know that he can't hit. Why the hell is he in the lineup after an off day? Because Izturcrap is Hendry's pet. Sure would be nice to have Maddux as a #5 starter right now.

  22. Go play in the street or something. He's allowed to have an opinion, no matter how baseless it may be.. Baseless? I don't need court documents to know that Sammy's physical development required something more than a normal workout routine. I think you'll also see a transformation in his body from 2005 to 2007. Strange how a seemingly washed-up player goes away for a year and comes back bigger and hitting home runs again. Hmmm, I wonder... But don't ask Sammy about it, he can only speak English when he's praising himself. Yea, because anyone would be stupid enough to make a roid-induced comeback when millions of people are already questioning him about his past because he thrived in the steroid era. Sosa is totally that dumb. There is no test for HGH, so what does he have to lose? He's not the only one, but it's naive to think that a significant number of major league players aren't still using performance-enhancing drugs.

  24. Yay for HGH! Sammy is a fraud and always will be.
