    I think Zambrano absolutely has to go on the DL. This team can't afford him to get scratched again or pulled early. Since they can make his DL stint retroactive to his last start, he would only miss 1-2 starts.

    I think it is pretty fair to say that Hendry severely misjudged this year's free agent market, both in the players he targeted and the contracts he offered them. Miles is a glaring example only because his performance has been so terrible, but Bradley and Dempster were similarly overpaid.

    Harden as closer is one of the more intriguing ideas that I've heard, but there is no way the Cubs are going to throw him into that role in the playoffs with no prior experience.

    Whether he has the talent to be a quality major league pitcher or not, he is never going to reach his potential in his current role. The Cubs need to decide whether he is going to be a starter or reliever, then let him work on it in the minors. Recalling him in a panic to rot in the Cubs bullpen isn't helping him or the team.
