Montero left a gap between the dirt and his glove. The ball found it. On radio it was described as a fastball Montero barely moved his glove for.. That's just how good he is at framing.

The Cubs really screwed this one up. The all-star break was 4 days. All they needed to do was wait 1 more day and he would have been fixed! -
I just don't get the Heyward drop-off. His OPS is currently 76 points below his career low and 136 points below his career average. Interestingly enough, his batting average and on base percentage are virtually identical to his career low season. The difference is all in slugging percentage.

I would be interested to see a statistical analysis showing the benefit of a marginally faster runner at second with 2 outs vs. losing potential extra inning at bats from your best hitter. At face value, I never like it, but I don't doubt that it may be the statistically right thing to do.
