  1. If Heyward averaged 1-43 over the course of the season, but that one hit was always a home run, I think I might take it.
  2. Hammel is still a bum. OK, he is a serviceable #4 starter for most teams, but for the Cubs... he's a bum.
  3. http://rizzo44.com/event-sponsorship-application-form/ Presenting - $25,000 Triple - $10,000 Double - $5,000 Well, unless the donations pick up an awful lot, that double looks awfully good. How about a donation campaign for Fred?
  4. Not watching, stuck at work...that actually happened? They were celebrating in the dugout as if they had just tied or gone ahead. He was kind of hopping through the dugout from one end to the other with the rest of the team lined up giving him fives.
  5. Hazelbaker dancing through the dugout down 4-1 was a nice touch.
  6. The one time we want Heyward to hit his usual dribbler to the right side...
  7. I would love this so much just to see Kyle's reaction.
  8. Lost in the fact that Hendricks is throwing a no hitter, we're in the 9th inning and haven't even hit the 2 hour mark yet.
  9. Arrieta is pretty clearly the 3rd best pitcher on the Cubs right now, but would he take offense to being "demoted" to Game 3 similar to the All-Star game rumors of him deciding not to pitch after he wasn't chosen as the starter?
  10. Just don't question it. That was as close a play as you'll ever see.
  11. Because Heyward is batting, so they really don't have anything to lose.
  12. "I have no stake in knowing any knowledge" That about sums it up.
  13. Yeah, somehow the Astros stealing bases doesn't concern me.
  14. Keep running on him boys.
  15. I remember one time Heyward had 3 hits in a game. It was glorious.
  16. Yeah, that was odd. They tried to prove the point that the Cubs haven't been dominant against their potential playoff opponents by showing how they have a winning record against all but the Mets. And the first team to clinch thing was just complete nonsense.
  17. I'm beginning to think the Cardinals may not catch us.
  18. Did they give a distance on Villar's home run? I don't think he was fooled by the "funk".
  19. Did anyone attend Family Day this year? This is my 2nd year and I was really disappointed with how they handled it this year. Tickets were broken up into 2 hour sessions, but they required everyone to be out 30 minutes prior to the next session. And even before that, they were pushing people to exit. Our start time was 12:00, which is when they opened the gates for us to enter. At 1:00, they gave a 30 minute warning, and by 1:15 they were encouraging people to head for the exits. My family tried to take a picture by the outfield wall at about 1:25 and we were told by one employee that the area had "already been secured" and we needed to leave. Thankfully there was another more reasonable employee nearby who took a quick picture for us, but overall the whole event felt very short and rushed. They really need to re-think the Family Day event and consider who is attending... families with children. By the time we got in the gates, sat down and ate our food, and took my son to the bathroom, there was very little time left to do anything. It should be a more relaxed environment for Season Ticket Holders and not one where we are being pushed out the door less than 90 minutes after arriving, with my 3-year old crying because he only got to play catch in the outfield for a few minutes. My son took his Cubs shirt and shorts off when we got home and laid them out on the floor saying he was putting them there for next time we go to Wrigley Field. He loved being on the field and it was just disappointing that we didn't get to spend much time there. I will be sending this feedback to my STH representative, but I was just curious whether anyone else had attended and felt the same way. I know last year had the same 2 hour sessions, but I'm pretty sure we got the full 2 hours and weren't being hounded to leave. There must be a better way to handle this event, maybe extend the sessions to 3 hours or make them "come and go as you please".
