  1. Serious question. Who addresses all the mental mistakes with the team? It is a pattern that is happening way too often and we know Joe is pretty hands off with the team during the season. I don't know why it is happening, but across the board there are just too many mistakes being made. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  2. This horsefeathering team Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  3. There is no reason to ever NOT backdate a DL stint, so that really isn't encouraging in the slightest. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  4. KB is a hitting fool Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  5. It's funny because JD was basically just saying the opposite, that Holland didn't seem to have great stuff but the Cubs just aren't hitting him. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  6. Are the Cubs still leading the league in soft contact? Because it sure seems like that must be the case. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  7. There was nothing oversensitive about that reaction. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  8. Let's play three on Saturday. What else are they going to do in between games? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  9. Zach Zaidman fills in for the fifth inning.
  10. Why don't Butler and Montgomery count? Do you think other teams have extra rotation guys stockpiled and ready to replace top or middle-of-rotation starters without missing a beat? Montgomery and Butler are serviceable replacement 5th starters, and that is really all they need to be.
  11. This is unrelated to your comment on his personal appearance, but the more I listen to him on the radio the more he feels like Ron Santo. Maybe a little more with it, and a little less of an unabashed homer with his heart on his sleeve, but definitely get the same overall vibe from him. I have grown to like him more over the years. He isn't the best color guy around, but we could do a lot worse.
  12. I just saw a shot of Coomer in the booth. He has always been big, but geeze!
  13. reminds me of when Dusty used to keep players at the same spot in the batting order when they replaced a normal starter. Like Trinidad Hubbard batting 3rd when Sammy went on the DL Are you suggesting Trinidad Hubbard wasn't a legitimate 3 hitter??? Poppycock!
  14. Ball 5 to Schwarber. Let's see if he can take Ball 6. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  15. Why not? Maybe not for Norris, but he had a fresh bullpen with the day off yesterday. Could have thrown Bowman, Brebbia, Gregorson to get past him. Was already the bottom of the 8th and they were obviously set on Norris going 1+ innings to close it out. Fair enough. I guess I didn't think they had anyone else ready at that point. But regardless, do you think that Heyward vs a lefty is a better option than Almora vs a right? Almora would have hit against the lefty, since the pitcher was just brought in to face Heyward and had to remain in the game to face one batter. So it would have been Almora and La Stella, both against a lefty, instead of Heyward against a lefty and La Stella against a righty. I'll take Option 1. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  16. Since his 1st AB of this game. I didn't see that one, so I'm off the hook! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  17. That was the hardest hit ball to the opposite direction that I can recall Heyward hitting in a long, long time. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  18. I can't believe we're losing to Eddie freaking Harris. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  19. We will never know, but I'm curious what Happ's value was in the off-season and whether he could have netted a young back of rotation starter or high upside reliever. I really felt he was the guy who should have been traded to clear the outfield logjam. Right now, he shouldn't be playing over Almora. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  20. What is the deal with the "smaller seats" that have supposedly been added down the right and left field lines? Does anyone know which rows/sections were affected by this so that I can avoid them at all costs? http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-spt-cubs-wrigley-changes-sullivan-20180410-story.html
