  1. It would really suck if the rain causes this game to be finished on Friday and the Cubs have to use Chapman with another game to play and 2 more on consecutive days.
  2. That's a "good enough" outing, but Jake was missing spots badly all game. He also got the benefit of several borderline calls in the early innings. The end result was good, but he still makes me nervous as hell for a potential Game 6.

  4. That last pitch was the one to hit. The Cubs have had plenty of chances tonight.
  5. This is all my fault because I watched Major League last night
  6. Tomorrow's game moved up an hour? I had no idea they could do that.
  7. What is the disconnect between everyone here who hates Smoltz and all the local and national TV/radio hosts who can't praise him enough?
  8. OK he's lying in the outfield now. How much time does he get?
  9. I'm not overly excited about Coghlan being in the starting lineup, but I am thankful that the plug has finally been pulled on Heyward for 2016 and the team was able to survive 2 series of his complete ineptness on offense.
  10. Are the Wrigleyville bars/restaurants doing anything to prevent people from camping tables all day long? I can't imagine it would be in their best interests to have the same group occupying a table for several hours leading up to the game.
  11. Does anyone have recommendations for parking this weekend? I typically park in the Irving Park lot, but that almost certainly won't be available. My current plan is just to park at the remote Rockwell lot early in the afternoon and Uber it to/from Wrigleyville instead of waiting for the shuttle buses. Is there a better/closer option that doesn't cost a fortune?
  12. As great of a story it would be for Schwarber to make the roster, I can't help but think LaStella is the better option. I want it to be Schwarber, but he can't play defense and would be a liability on the bases, so it's basically home run or nothing. I won't be surprised at all if the Cubs decide to go the safe route.
  13. Security concerns would be part of it. Doubt they want thousands of people standing in the streets outside the ballpark loitering in one spot. The games at Wrigley are on the weekend, so a lot of folks are going to be at the bars drinking (which presumably have expanded some since 2003). Wrigley also has a couple thousand more seats/thousand. Can't drink in the street. I think there's also probably a few less diehard national fans wanting to travel in just to stand near the park since there's no WGN America games anymore (and that network has greatly declined in popularity since the 90s). The construction has be limiting people outside the ballpark too. There just isn't much open space for people to congregate.
  14. Forget about the players, I need rest after those last 3 nights.
  15. Does anyone watch these CSN postgame polls? The way the percentages bounce around makes absolutely no sense and can't possibly be accurate. I think they are using the Trump campaign contribution tracker program.
  16. Cubs up 3-2 and Heyward won't start another game in this series. That is about the best possible scenario going back to Chicago.
