Apparently the Marlins new ownership group is planning to clean house of special assistants including Jeff Conine, Tony Perez, Jack McKeon, and Andre Dawson. Not a huge story really, but I have to imagine the Cubs would be interested in bringing Dawson back to the organization. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

No, we don't dude. I don't want to bring W. Davis back just like I didn't want to bring Chapman back after I saw his performance in the playoffs last year. Honestly, W. Davis will probably get a 4-yr deal for $60-70 million and I want no part of that. No thanks lol. I'm glad we got something useful for Soler. Davis has looked really shaky at times and his velocity isn't really elite anymore. Somehow I don't think there will be a lot of elite "trending up" closers on the market. Also, the big trade chips are gone, so trading for a very good young closer is no longer an option. Davis has looked shaky at times, as almost all closers do, but he has been very good all season. He may not be at his peak prime, but if he still has 2+ years of slightly below prime left then he is worth the money.

Can anyone imagine this bullpen without Wade Davis? I know this FO hasn't been big on paying top money for a closer, but they need to spend whatever it takes to keep him here.

Contreras, Avila, Revera, Caratini, Schwarber, Davis Crap, I completely forgot about Caratini. I was giving Joe the benefit of the doubt that he was starting Davis because of his familiarity with Tseng, but that logic doesn't hold up when he could have started an actual major league player in Caratini instead.
