  1. Of course the Dodgers come right back with a hit.
  2. How many times do we have to hear the "leg kick might get a little bigger" story about Javy batting 5th?
  3. I can't help but read this as an old man would say "This here telephone machine ain't working".
  4. He's 2 for 3 with a HR against Urias. Ride the defense this time and see if he can have similar success at the plate. Surely that is statistically significant.
  5. I hope so. If (and it is a BIG "if") the Cubs can find a way to beat Kershaw in that scenario, that would be a huge blow to the Dodgers coming back to Chicago. And even if the Dodgers win with Kershaw in Game 5, the Cubs still aren't in terrible shape with Hendricks and Arrieta lined up for 2 must-win games at home. Of course, it all starts with winning tonight.
  6. It seems like the narrative is all about the Dodgers. The announcers must have mentioned Urias starting tomorrow at least 5 different times, but I don't know if they have even said Lackey's name.
  7. This is a good time to burn our best left-handed reliever (not counting Chapman) and let him throw a lot of pitches.
  8. I'm starting to feel like it's not about the pitching but just our entire lineup for the most part being in a horrible slump or for some other reason just sucking. I mean, we got dominated by Matt Moore, too, just as much as the really good pitchers. Pretty much every starter has been good against us, and we couldn't even bash Shark that much despite a good start to that game. Didn't shark only pitch like 2 innings? Lol. He got creamed. As did Maeda. The other games were started by Cueto, Bumgarner, Moore, Kershaw and Hill. The Cubs didn't take advantage of Maeda nearly as much as they should have.
  9. Rizzo is at least working counts. Russell is probably tired.Being tired isn't a great excuse for the team that had several weeks of meaningless games to rest players.
  10. I think that is the first time I have heard Heyward and "jumpstart this offense" used together.
  11. It isn't a horrible idea and is similar to how the Hendricks injury actually worked in the Cubs favor in a way. But Lackey would probably take out the coaching staff with a steel chair.
  12. This really feels like last year all over again, except without the excuse of the dominant Mets pitching staff
  13. Jake looks good. Hill looks bad. Is 1 run too much to ask before the Dodgers turn this over to the bullpen.
  14. Yeah maybe Dexter was calling it, but Soler was pretty much camped under it.
