  1. I have watched some bad episodes of SNL over the years, and last night was probably the worst. The Cubs stuff was alright, but the show as a whole was a disaster (Trump-ism intended).
  2. That is a good question. It seems like it should, but that wasn't clear from the description I read.
  3. It might be a little awkward for Ross to not have any separation from the team before jumping right in as bench coach. It seems like a year away may be important for him to reset everything before he moves on to the next phase of his career. But the premise is flawed anyway, because I don't see Dave Martinez getting a manager job. Likely the only way he leaves is if Joe decides it is time for him to move on.
  4. I have been considering getting a new home pinstripe jersey (no number on the back) for awhile and can't decide whether to buy one now with the World Series Champions patch or just wait until next year and buy the regular non-patched version. The patches are cool, but I'm not sure how cool the 2016 patch will be 4 years from now after we have won 3 championships.
  5. Yeah, I think that will be one of the things I remember most about the entire playoff run. I loved Rizzo even before that, but his conversation with Ross in the dugout sealed the deal for me.
  6. That webstore is a joke. You would think a dying newspaper business would want to take advantage of a rare chance to make some easy money, but their site doesn't appear capable of processing a single order (even in the middle of the night).
  7. Now that the celebration is over, it is starting to sink in that the season is over and we will never see this exact group of players together again. This season was easily the highlight of my sports lifetime and I can only keep it alive with replays and video montages for so long. I would say there is a touch of sadness that this amazing moment has passed, similar to the feeling I used to get as a kid on Christmas night after all my presents had been opened. I still had all the memories and the toys to play with, but I knew it would be another year before I could experience that excitement again. What an amazing ride this has been.
  8. ABC now interviewing the ghosts of Tinker and Chance. This coverage, awful all around.
  9. Crane got choked up there. Seriously, is Billy dying?
  10. They were driving me crazy with the "Arrieta is gone, right?" conversation because they didn't know he still has a year left and nobody corrected them.
  11. You mean to tell me the percentages shouldn't be fluctuating by 10 every few seconds when the poll has already been running for an hour?
  12. Man. I hope Billy is OK. He didn't look good and Joe seemed concerned as well.
  13. 55% chance of rain in Cleveland beginning around 11:00 CDT. Can you imagine the shear torture of an extra-innings rain delay?
  14. is it just me, or is this move by the Indians on par with if the Cubs were to invite Henry Rowengartener from American Pie? It wasn't the Indians who invited him.
  15. I have caught myself going there several times today and had to snap back to reality. I have no idea how I will react when that daydream becomes reality, but I sure hope to find out.
  16. My unborn child needs a name and Kyle is in play (from two possible angles). Make it happen, Cubs.
  17. Guys, we are going to play a Game 7 in the horsefeathering World Series.
  18. Chapman coming back out. Joe, you are managing scared and stupid.
