    You know somewhere there is a Yankees fan who was DVR'ing the game on TBS and looking forward to watching it after work, only to come home and find that he recorded nothing but Houston/Seattle.

    Fields put the ball in two receivers hands in the end zone. Guys just can't make a play.

    Great series by Smith-Marsette. First the fall on your face run, then letting the pass hit him in the helmet.

    Left Tackle is a BIG problem.

    That's rather shocking. I'm happy to see the team winning games, and the defense is really good, but it still doesn't feel like there's any way they are one of the best 25 teams. But let's win a few more games and go to a semi-respectable bowl game for a change!

    Holy hell is Molina slow. I mean, I knew he was slow, but he just got thrown out by two steps on a play that I assumed had absolutely no chance to get the out at first.

    And that's why the extra innings runner is stupid. [emoji846] Instead of a team winning with a sacrifice bunt and routine fly ball out in the 10th, we get a walk off home run.

    My stance on the extra innings runner has already been stated multiple times, but I will say it is really strange to suddenly play under different rules during the postseason. If the extra innings runner is how baseball is going to be played now, then it should probably apply in the postseason too. But I will hate it until the day I die. I still hope that MLB will eventually go back to the old rules for regular season games too, but that hope is fading.

    A crisp 2 hour, 17 minute game. Also, this Phillies team sucks.

    And at the plate. Hopefully it's just a matter of needing more reps, but right now he certainly doesn't look like someone who will be in the conversation for a Major League spot early next season.

    It doesn't seem like there is much reason to keep Wesneski in Iowa. He should probably be the #5 starter going into next season, or at the very least a long reliever / spot starter until a consistent spot opens up.

    What do you do with Sampson? It sucks to have him holding a 40 man spot in the offseason, but how can they let him go at this point?

    Has anyone seen any reason to think Velazquez can potentially be a useful Major League piece? Almost 200 at bats in, I definitely haven't been impressed.

    Not hindsight at all, as I was saying this after the 8th, but pushing Alzolay beyond an inning there was a mistake. We know he can pitch multiple innings, but the guy hasn't pitched in MLB in forever. Let him get out of his first game back feeling good after a scoreless inning.

    With the pitch clock in place, can we get rid of the extra innings runner now? As much as I have come around on most of the other changes, I still hate the extra innings runner as much as I did on Day 1.

    Oh, it's probably just one of the 50ish games per year where one or both of the Cubs primary commentary team isn't on the broadcast.

    I'm glad I didn't waste a single minute of my Saturday evening watching this one. It looks like Smyly was the only bright spot. It's just too bad he couldn't have had this run a month earlier.

    Getting 6 scoreless out of Assad + Rucker is quite an unlikely feat.
