    They basically have to pay double (at least for 2023) what any other team would, so I just don't see how that math possibly works. If he's worth THAT much to the Mets, there must be another team who would be willing to offer him more while paying out less.

    I have never seen an Offensive Line get so badly and consistently beat on plays where the defense brings only 3 or 4 rushers. Blitzing is completely unnecessary.

    This Illinois team is impressive. So deep, and so talented. It's hard to imagine losing Kofi and getting better, but this team has so many more weapons. I won't be surprised if they have a few struggles in Big 10 play, but on any given night they can hang with anyone in the country.

    That catch by Justin Jefferson in the Minnesota game may very well be the best catch I have ever seen.

    Gotta wait for that new core to develop, while they all suffer significant freak injuries and push the timeline back even further.

    Yep, me too. I think his absolute ceiling is what he did last year, but he is unlikely to repeat that performance and he is only a year plus away from being 30 years old. It feels like any extension at this stage is going to be an overpay. Not that it has to be one or the other, but I would much rather lock Nico up now and take a wait and see approach with Happ.

    Opting out was a no brainer. Will he take the QO though?

    As much as I dislike Dusty Baker from his time with the Cubs, he has done what I didn't think he was capable of. He has adapted his managing style and removed any doubt as to whether he is a Hall of Famer. It helps to be managing a great team, but Dusty still deserves some credit.

    Hindsight 20/20 obviously, but they should have stuck with Wheeler there. He may have been fading a bit, but I'd still take his stuff over anyone in the Phillies pen.

    I'm not a big fan of watching a guy who can't hit hang his padded elbow over the plate to get on base.

    Where did you see that the shoulder injury requires surgery?

    Bleachers were available in a nights & weekend package but I believe that was it. Everything else full season in the past. I believe that changed a few years ago. A buddy of mine got nights and weekend seats prior to the 2021 season.

    They must really be hemorrhaging Season Ticket holders to reduce prices by 5%. I wonder what the waiting list looks like now? I would guess there is a huge amount of churn with waitlisters buying tickets and then not renewing for a 2nd season after they realize how difficult the resale market is.
