  1. It appears they are going with their lefty-facing lineup, but against a righty.
  2. I would dispute this line about the rooftops: I have been on 2 or 3 different rooftops and I have always found them to provide an abysmal game-watching experience. Yes, it can be a good time with lots of food and drink, etc, but don't expect to actually get a good view of the action.
  3. No pressure Kyle. The Cubs really need to win this game, the high leverage bullpen arms are spent, and the offense might not score. Go get 'em!
  4. I don't completely disagree with Ross' "play the guys who got you here" approach, but it may be time to start exploring alternatives to Tauchman.
  5. Does Jed still have Theo on speed dial so he can come back and give his "the offense broke down the stretch" speech.
  6. Asking for a friend, is it still legal to hit an extra base hit?
  7. Is the Cubs offensive strategy to keep hitting the ball as high as possible?
  8. I would put Palencia above Cuas at this point in the circle of trust rankings
  9. I'm doing my part. I put money on the Reds tonight and that's usually enough to make sure they don't win.
  10. That would suck, but you also have to consider the unlikely rise for them to get to this point in the first place. Unless we see some egregious decision-making down the stretch that costs the Cubs multiple critical games, I don't see them moving on from Ross after this season.
  11. Man, Ross is an ass sometimes. Asked about why he took Taillon out, he said a combination of "He was done", "It's my decision right?" and "I don't need to explain."
  12. Every time it looks the Cubs might be on the verge of a downward spiral, they come back and start winning again. I fully expect them to win the next 2 games, and 1 of the 2 at a minimum. If they get swept, then we can start to panic, but I don't think that is likely.
  13. If the Cubs lose 1-0, I have a hard time blaming Ross for his pitching decisions. You have to at least score 1 run to win a game.
  14. Most times I forget he is even on the team. And I'm not sure why he is. He is a pinch runner or defensive replacement and he isn't particularly good at either of those.
  15. Ugh. Now it's less likely to get around to Bellinger in the 9th. Also, if Gomes does get on to start the inning, you can't pinch run for him because we are out of catchers.
  16. Well, for a team with an overworked bullpen, keeping a guy in the active roster when he can't pitch for over a week isn't ideal.
  17. Alzolay still unavailable? Why didn't he go on the IL then?
  18. Completely anecdotal take here, but does the Cubs offense struggle more than most against good defensive teams?
  19. Yeah, I think I'm good with letting him go. He is better than what the Cubs had for this year, but not the long term answer.
