  1. It is December 9 in Japan. So much for the Japanese day of luck.
  2. No doubt he is working on a pure royalty deal in perpetuity.
  3. Ok now that is just hilarious. I guess maybe Robert is having sushi for dinner tonight.
  4. I think that's more of an "oh ho ho" rather than "oh oh oh".
  5. Yeah, this has gone off the rails. Not his fault by any means, but the secrecy has definitely contributed to the absolute looniness of the whole process.
  6. This was all a ploy by Shohei to find the leak. He found it. Toronto, you are the weakest link. Goodbye.
  7. After he finishes Season 2 of the Wire, perhaps.
  8. And if Bowden and Nightingale are right... In any normal job, that's enough for Morosi to get fired, right? Everyone is in a rush to be first and who knows what sketchy sources they are trusting to get there.
  9. No way. Tom is saving up to buy the Diner Grill.
  10. I'm fine with Ohtani going to the Blue Jays, but the thing that is mildly annoying is that this was seemingly a winnable negotiation. If he would have gone to the Dodgers, then we probably assume it was going to be the Dodgers all along for various reasons, but what does Toronto have that Chicago doesn't?
  11. He is actually going to fly to every city and whichever trip doesn't get leaked is the team he will sign with. We win, since apparently he was never here.
  12. Yes, but how do we know he isn't just really good friends with Tucker Barnhart and is accompanying Tucker on a free agent visit to Toronto?
  13. Turns out I don't know how to embed tweets anymore.
  14. I have it on good authority that someone just reserved a table at Byron's Hot Dogs.
  15. One thing to consider is that IF Carolina wins the 2 or more games they would need to tie New England, doing so would directly impact their SOS in a favorable way.
  16. I just realized the Bears get the Panthers second round pick in 2025 as well. This is the trade that keeps on giving. It is hard to believe this Panthers team will get substantially better next year, so that will likely be a very early second rounder to stack on top of everything else.
  17. I'll feel really good about it if Carolina loses this weekend. The Saints aren't a good team and it's a winnable game for Carolina. If they don't get this one, the path to 2-3 more wins gets very difficult.
  18. Carolina has 5 games left. They only need 2 wins to tie the Patriots and Cardinals and then it comes down to strength of schedule. It is still far from a certainty.
  19. They haven't, but I read something where Boras said Harper is seeking an extension and that they were open to listening on Alonso.
  20. I don't know. Suddenly Boras seems open to extensions (with Alonso and Harper), so watch the Yankees immediately lock Soto up long term.
  21. The most expensive of which being Jose Quintana, a desperate attempt to overpay in talent for a cost-controlled starter who wasn't very good and cost the Cubs a future ace plus a solid (albeit injury prone) outfielder.
  22. I'm beginning to think the Bulls winning without LaVine isn't a coincidence.
  23. If you horde all your prospects, most of them are going to turn into pumpkins. Some teams are really good at identifying the most likely future pumpkins and dealing them before they ripen, but the Cubs don't seem to have figured that part out yet.
