  1. Jordan Love has the arm strength of a T-Rex.
  2. Very possibly. I don't know how a guy can make his reads when he has to look and reach down to pick the ball up.
  3. That looked like a Tecmo Super Bowl FG off the upright.
  4. The Jets are going to win, giving the Bears a chance to move up to #9 in the draft with a loss today. I have no idea where they end up if they win, but it looks like it might be as low as 13ish? I have a hard time deciding what to root for today, so I guess I'll be happy either way.
  5. Would you rather have Wright than Bryce Young straight up? I would say yes. Everything else is gravy, and it's a LOT of gravy.
  6. Not that it matters, but Carolina was shut out again and Bryce Young threw for 94 yards. What an absolute disaster.
  7. Yes, MLB offseason is boring and seems to be moving slower and slower with each passing year, but we are a very small minority of the fanbase that cares about such things. Most people probably have no idea who their team has signed until they show up on Opening Day. Making any changes to the offseason schedule simply to appease the fans would be silly.
  8. Wasn't that the plan last time?
  9. This Illinois team is really good. They won't stick as a Top 10 team without Shannon, but they have a lot of weapons and appear to be built for March moreso than the previous years. I don't expect them to win at Purdue, but it will be interesting to see if they can carry this momentum forward.
  10. There is some of that, and I don't put a lot of stock in the random Twitter post, but this does smell like a case of a DA over-reaching for a serious felony charge that isn't supported by the facts. Obviously we don't all know those facts yet, but based on the reactions of others who are closer to the case than we are, I am fairly confident that the felony charge isn't going to stick. Whether that might actually lead to Shannon playing again this season, I have no idea.
  11. It certainly appears there is a lot of smoke indicating that the serious charges aren't substantiated and that there may be discussions taking place to get the charges dropped or substantially altered to reflect what actually happened.
  12. I think it would matter because you are entering "win now" mode, especially if they use their picks to address other Non-QB positions. With the rest of the roster being playoff-caliber, I think they should have better insurance than Bagent in the event of an injury.
  13. So let's say hypothetically the Bears stick with Fields next year and add weapons around him. While I do think Bagent can be a decent NFL backup, they can't have him as the #2 behind Fields again, can they?
  14. Get Carolina on the horn. See if they want to trade their pick 2.1 for a QB (Fields). 😁
  15. Just in case you didn't trust the SOS math.
  16. 26-0. Pop the champagne everyone.
  17. 16 completions today for........ 92 yards. Tyson Bagent, is that you?
  18. Carolina down 19-0 going into the 4th quarter. They have a total of 69 yards of offense through three quarters.
  19. Or a genius move to burn another one of the Falcons timeouts!
  20. I don't know that Fields is a guy who can just be plugged into a random offense midseason. I would think any team who is acquiring him would need to do so in the off-season so they can tailor their offensive gameplan around his abilities.
  21. On the bright side, even if the decision has already been made, he is showing just enough to improve his possible trade return. What's the best case scenario for him - a 2nd rounder? Or is that too high?
  22. 9-0 at the half. So far so good, but still a little too close for comfort.
  23. I don't think the Bulls are a fair comparison. The Bears have assets and financial flexibility, while the Bulls are up against the cap with mediocre/bad contracts and no help coming through the draft for several years. Taking the coaching decisions out of the equation, the two rosters have their arrows pointed in different directions.
  24. They may very well be cheap, but I have a hard time believing that Eberflus' $4M is anything more than a rounding error compared to the money the Bears bring in each year.
  25. The Offensive Coordinator candidates are really going to be lining up to work with Eberflus next year.
