I think he is setting himself up for disappointed if that's the case. I think it spoke volumes that nobody, other than the Nats, really gave him much of a chance. He'll be in the booth a long time. -
I think we need Nomar and JD to go with Prior and Wood on our All Star DL list.

So the winning bid is given to Seibu Wednesday shortly after the 5pm deadline, but the announcement won't come until, at the earliest, Thursday afternoon, and, at the latest, 96 hours or 4 days later which would be Sunday at 5pm Eastern. Tuesday would be the day. 4 business days are what they count.

I'm not in any huff about it. It just continues to show how few contacts he has in the organization. Kind of puts a question mark on his stories without sources, such as his trade rumors and free agent targets.

Looks like the great Paul Sullivan gets scooped again by an out of town paper. If this is true, that will be the second time in a couple of weeks. They should just fire him now, if it is true.

I'd guess this is bad news for Walker's agent. No team is going to give up a top pick to sign him. Looks like a minor league deal for Todd.

This is getting really old. Please stop attacking my opinions. And you obviously didn't understand what I was saying to begin with. I didn't see my post as a response to you in any way. On the contrary, placing opinions on a message board leaves them open to attack, especially eroneous ones. Reminds of the call that we didn't need to re-sign Alou because we had " the Creature" to play left.

Why get worked up over something that Paul Sullivan wrote? He has no contacts in the organization anymore, he just speculates, because no one will tell him anything anymore. Heck, he got scooped by a NY paper last week about Trammell's hiring.

I think it's a very good move. The funny part is that ALL the so-called beat writers got scooped by a NY paper. Paul Sullivan is a useless clown with a really bad dye job. He just needs the bright red nose to replace Bozo. He is useless without Stone, Grace and Girardi feeding him all the "off the record" stuff.

For what it's worth, Steve Stone thought it was a terrific hire. He said he thinks Lou is the best talent evaluator as a manager that he knows. He doesn't think Joe is ready now, but will be down the road. The score website might have it now, but I doubt it.

I don't see a reason to panic. A line in the paper or Rotoworld doesn't mean a thing. They have exchanged numbers already. Cryptic quotes in the paper are usually meaningless and often over analyzed by people starving for info. I do it too, but usually the press is not in the real pipeline of what is going on.
