  1. well thought out reasoning. The in-depth analysis is impressive.
  2. Perez to Detroit for minor league catcher. I hope Perez does well. He's done a good job as a reserve, obviously Detroit values him more than this board does.
  3. If Perez is traded, Bynum will be called up.
  4. I'd rather have a heavy guy with talent than a skinny guy with no talent.
  5. That was inning was great. Jones sticking to CLemens and Mateo hitting him!! Love both!
  6. Some of the comments on this thread are laughable and childish.
  7. I don't believe that to be true. Hendry wanted prospects and the Dodgers said no, at least according to Bruce Miles.
  8. Too bad the search function is disabled, they were many who thought he was a bust.
  9. Apparently all MLB GM's are passing on him, including Beane. That really should tell you something.
  10. How many teams are looking for an OF and have an extra 13.5 million dollars to spend? The desperate White Sox as the season is slowly going downhill.
  11. You're gonna need to elaborate, because there's still no connection between the two. I believe you stated that the Cubs will not need Lee, but rather an OBP stud. Like UK pointed out, that's not what I said, and how does that relate to Choi? Choi is all about OBP.

  13. It isn't irrelevant when you think Lee doesn't have good enough OBP.
  14. What a guy hitting .292 with 28 HR and 82 RBI with a OBP .352 isn't good enough? Huh? Carlos Lee is 96th of qualified players in OBP. He's not a bad player, but on a team that's going to need an OBP stud to overcome low OBP guys in Izturis, Jones, and possibly Cedeno, it's not enough. Gee, Hee Flop Choi is an OBP stud, he just can't hit too well. See, this is called trolling. No, just stating a well known fact.
  15. ARam's agent is coming to town to talk to Hendry. I think an extension will be coming before the end of the season.

  17. Nope, he was never rostered to my knowledge. Wasn't Fontenot on the roster when he came over in the Sosa trade? I could swear he and Crouthers were on the Orioles' 40 man roster. He had to have been to play for the Cubs this year.
  18. ARam for Bobby Hill was pretty good also.
  19. I happen to fully agree with Stone(I know, I blast him a lot), but you got a true SS, a switch hitter who doesn't strike out and a glod glove fielder vs 2 more months of Maddux. We already have two true SS's on the roster for next year. Switch hitting doesn't matter if the production isn't there. Cedeno & Neifi don't strike out that much, either. Neifi won a GG, too, and we already had him and don't have to pay an extra $4M for him next year. Cedeno isn't a quality SS and Neifi is a backup. What did you think you would get for Maddux for 2 months, along with a No trade clause?
  20. Not if he can move runners which many of the Cubs can't and neither could Walker.
  21. so? why post if you feel that way. I think the Cubs got what they could for Walker, there was NO line waiting to get him for over a year. I like the Maddux deal too.

  23. Seems to me that NO ONE offered any more for Walker. Why does everyone think he was valuable to any other team? I think this shows his value.
  24. why are the Cubs not involved? He's not a two month rental and other than Zambrano, Lee and ARam I would offer them whatever they are looking for. Murton, Cedeno, Pie, pitching whatever, I think a good package could be made and then in the off season look for LF, 2B and starting pitching. It would be a good move to start the 2007 roster early.
